Day 06 - A song that reminds of you of somewhere
“Lucid Dreams” (Single version)-Franz Ferdinand
It reminds me of my imprisonment in the beautiful, dead land of East Florida during the hottest part of the year. I remember listening to it over and over and dancing around the bedroom of the guesthouse. I think that song singlehandedly kept me alive. Also, it reminds me of the 2008 Democratic National Convention, in which Barack Obama became the Dems’ presidential candidate. My family was watching it on the TV downstairs and I think I had the TV on in my room too (this guest house was the BEST PLACE EVER. Five bedrooms, a TV in every room-my room had two queen-sized beds, a TV and a huge bathroom. All mine. It was bliss.) So I suppose that is a very fond memory overall.
Day 07 - A song that reminds you of a certain event
“By the Way”-Red Hot Chili Peppers
When M. and I got back to our hotel room after the Bloc Party concert in March 2009, I was seriously shell-shocked. It had been my first one-on-one (as in, one band, one audience of fans) concert, and at the time I idolized the members of the band and thought about them all the time. They became as real to me as the people in my daily life. So when I saw them in person, the reality came down on me like a ton of bricks, and I had to come to terms with what it means to be a fan of a famous person. I put on this song, “By the Way,” because I remembered some lyrics that went “Standing in line to see the show tonight and there’s a light on/Heavy glow/By the way, I tried to say I’d be there/Waiting for…” And I bawled my eyes out.
And more, because it's just so riveting:
Your favorite genre: Rock, specifically blues rock.
Your favorite band: Cream.
Your favorite song: Suite: Judy Blue Eyes by CSNY

What band(s) do you relax to? CSNY, Big Star, the Beach Boys, the Beatles.
What band(s) do you rock out to? Led Zeppelin, Cream, the Who, Jimi Hendrix, Queen.
Do you listen to the radio? Yes-WKQI’s morning show every weekday, and that thing is always on no matter what is playing. Top 40, classic rock, whatever. The radio is always on. <3
First band you ever saw in concert: My first concert, I suppose, was Lollapalooza 2008, where I saw Bloc Party, Gnarls Barkley, Brand New, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, Foals, Uffie, Kanye West and others.
Last band you saw in concert: The amazing Stephen Stills!
Band you've never seen in concert but want to: The White Stripes/The Raconteurs/The Dead Weather (i.e., anything with Jack White).
What three albums would you choose to grab from your collection as you flee from the zombie apocalypse to a safer area? Don't think about it too long, the zombies are coming!! Cream-Disraeli Gears, CSNY-Deja Vu, The Jimi Hendrix Experience-Are You Experienced?
