Favorite baseball memory: Going the the last game at the old Yankee Stadium. It was so unreal. We had awesome seats right on the third base line and it was so crazy. All these baseball greats were just right there! But my second favorite memory was the game against Kansas City when A-Rod hit his 500th home run. The entire stadium went insane and we cheered for a good five minutes. So much fun.
Favorite part of the game: It's hard to say. I mean, I love everything about baseball so much. But I guess what I love most about the fact is that, when you're sitting there in a stadium you are surrounded by thousands of complete strangers. And yet, that doesn't really seem to matter when your favorite player hits one over the fence or the home team comes back to win it. You're not really strangers any more because you all love your team and you love the game. God, that sounded sappy :)
What made you get into the game? Well, when I was 4 my dad signed me up to play baseball in the local Rec league. My first year of tee-ball I was on a team called the Marlins, and we pretty much sucked. However, in the back of my mind I noted that there was this team called the Yankees that seemed to always win and I made sure that I was on that team the next year [seriously, I called the league commissioner myself the next spring and requested it. He found it amusing enough that he actually did it]. I played with that same group of guys all through tee-ball, coach pitch, and kid pitch and we were first in the league every single year. It ingrained in me a deep love of the sport that hasn't left me yet.
Any hobbies? (photography, writing, stat keeping, etc.): I'm not a photographer by any means, but I always take a bunch of pictures when I'm at the ballpark. I also like to spend my free time on ESPN.com and wikipedia looking into random people, sports, players, etc. Oh, and a love of baseball has segued into a equal love for college softball.
Anything else you want us to know?: I love reading, classic rock, classic films, lifting weights, and Andy Warhol.
