Saturday morning cartoons started way too early. Milagro "wasn't into that kiddy stuff", but she was still up early enough to watch some shows from that time block. Which meant she was up before Jaime. Which meant that there was no way he could sneak out of the house without her noticing that something really weird had happened over night

Momoko ran to the door as quick as she could... it was a commercial break, after all! And this Tween Heroes Go-Go was a good cartoon, for all that it wasn't anime.

"Who is it?" She called, then frowned. Actually who would be visiting her on a Saturday morning? Without calling ahead, even! Okay, now she was tiptoeing up to see through the peeop hole in her door.

"Let me in, Momoko," a voice called through the door, trying to simultaneously be loud enough to be heard and quiet enough that no neighbors would get curious.

That voice sounded kind of familiar? But the only thing she could see was a hand blocking her view. Although whoever it was, they knew her name, so...

"I don't let in strange hands," she temporized, trying to place the voice. That accent was totally El Paso, so someone from work, maybe?

"Momoko!" That was a very frustrated voice. "Come on! We don't have time for this!"

You could practically hear the hopping up and down impatiently.

Ok that frustrated tone totally made the difference and Momoko had to choke back her laughter...

"Jaime!" She unlocked and opened the door, leaning against it. Her smile was HUGE. "You came to visit!"

NOT LAUGHING.

"Not. One. Word." It was a bit rude, but Momoko was totally getting pushed aside so that someone wouldn't be out in public any longer.

Momoko let a giggle escape as she steadied herself with the door. "And I wondered where Elena got her attitude..."

She let the door close behind her as she followed Jaime into the apartment. "At least we're not in Glacia?" She offered. "When this last happened to me, it lasted four days. I had a beard!"

Well, scruff. But if Jaime could claim his chin growth was a beard...

"I don't know. Karla might not kick me in the shins if I'm a girl," Jaime countered, not really grinning, and barely relaxing.

She sighed. "At least I didn't have any major plans this weekend."

"She'd probably try to kiss you," Momoko chuckled as she reached to turn off the cartoons. "No major plans, huh? Don't you usually have a study session with Amanda on Saturday?"

"Noooooo?"

Yes.

Momoko simply eyed him.

Well, and smirked.

"Text messages are really useful," she sighed.

"You chickened out!" She sang with glee as she sat and reached for Jaime's hand.

"Chickened out?" she asked, shaking her head. "What was the alternative, exactly?"

"Call?" Momoko tried, smiling. She totally got that he couldn't show up in person. Ah! "That reminds me! What did your family say? How did they react? My mom punched me the first time I turned into a guy at home."

"I snuck out before my parents could see me." Maybe Momoko would forget that parents weren't the only people in the family?
