I needed only four days of culling and editing to whittle down 1,000 inauguration-trip photos to a select few for posting online. Of course, I want to share them with you.

Just after sunrise inauguration morning, Jan. 20. We'd been awake for 24 hours at this point.
The crowd of 2 million filled the National Mall's 2-mile length to the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial beyond.
Some of the best views were from the shoulders of others.
President Obama delivers his inaugural address, which we collectively found a stirring and inspiring call to service.
At the new Newseum the next day, crowds viewed front pages from across the nation and around the world.
