01. What was the last meal you made "from scratch" (don't count pre-made/frozen meals unless you made them and then froze them for heating later)?
Lunch today--quinoa with red onion, black beans, and corn, seasoned with chili powder, cilantro, and Karam's garlic sauce--all wrapped in a spelt tortilla with mixed greens
02. Was the meal for a special occasion or just a meal?
Just a meal
03. What was the last desert you ate?
I've been hitting the chocolate and peanut butter pretty hard lately since I have a lot of good chocolate around for truffles...
04. Of the last desert, did you make it or buy it?
Ha ha--it would be pretty sad to buy that.

07. What was the most disasterous meal you have attempted to make?
My first attempt at homemade Ethiopian food, when I tried to make injera from scratch. Total failure.

I'm spoiled enough not to have to do that, unless you count the fish I cook for Phoebe.
09. What food do you refuse to eat?
Anything that comes from an animal. I'll force down pretty much anything else.

Well, microbial stuff, definitely, and some plants...other than that just the bugs that sneak in :)

Probably the sandwich I had last weekend at the Honey Hole. Yes, that's what it's called.

Mango, straight off the pit.

Ethiopian food

Not if I knew it was spoiled.

Probably corn chowder, but with many close seconds.

For the sake of playing along I'll assume we're talking about vegan versions of all of those, and I'll just say that the sweet-and-sour pork made of mushroom stalks at Teapot House is absolutely to die for. So pork :)

21. What's the most gourmet or difficult thing you've ever prepared?
Yeesh, I dunno. Probably that strawberry-chocolate napoleon I made last summer.

Anywhere from a couple to most, but usually not all.
23. What's your favorite vegetable?
Gaaaarliiiiccc
24. What's your favorite dessert?
Well, now this could get ridiculous. But I believe that one can never, ever go wrong with a well-made chocolate chip cookie.
25. What is something that you've always wanted to make but never have?
