August 3, 2010: The 2010 Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) has launched its signature event ‘Kids Fashion Week’ at Deira City Centre on last Sunday, August 1. The week-long event will continue till August 7.
Laila Suhail, the CEO of Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment inaugurated the event officially and the officials from Deira City Centre attended it.
The latest trends available in the international children’s fashion will be showcased at the event, which will take place at 6:30pm every day.
Themed shows are organized in this year’s Kids Fashion Week, which will be presented on the ramp. The different participating brands will combine their collection and display them.
The Kids’ fashion brands taking part this year include Carnival 4 All, Zara Kids, Woolworths, A2Z, Sanrio, United Colors of Bennetton, Stadium, Okaidi, and Classy Style.
An exhaustive three-week fashion training camp was organized by the fashion specialists to groom about 30 young models to walk the ramp in the Kids Fashion Week. The children participated in extensive rehearsals to cover all the aspects of fashion including catwalk, makeup, and fashion accessories.
The children belong to Dubai-resident from India, United Kingdom, Philippines, Norway, Kazhakstan, Sudan, the US, Pakistan, Jordan, Syria, Kyrgyz Republic, Australia, Azerbaijan, and the UAE. The union of these kids at this fashion event will offer a multi-cultural feel to it.
Children in the age group of 5 to 10 years will walk the ramp on the opening day of the Kids Fashion Week. This year’s event has another special highlighting section, in which the parents will be designing clothes for their kids. Among these designed clothes, ugg Stiefel,the best summer outfit will be judged.
