WTF? The stimulus is a joke!
Reading the provisions of Obama's stimulus bill makes you wonder what the hell Congress is thinking. What is the point of giving people a $400 tax credit
through lowering withholding an average of $13/week? Nobody will notice the extra pocket money. Since I make 95% of my income in tax season, I won't benefit from it, so I have to wait for my tax return next year to claim the money.
The economic downtown has made people seek cheaper alternatives than HR Block. More are probably choosing the free file route (for those below a certain income level.) The company is already closing offices earlier because the business isn't there. Peak is usually the first two weeks, but if we've had it, it must have passed ys by.
