Author's Notes:
It has been a couple of years since I last wrote anything for Weiss Kreuz, so I'm hoping this is at least satisfactory. Happy holidays,
balljointedomi, thank you for allowing my Ken and Omi muses to wake from their prolonged slumber.

It was freezing. Certainly it had already been cold that night, as it was winter, and the snow had been falling on them. What Omi wouldn't have given to just go to bed, with his electric blanket switched on and providing him with enough warmth to get him through the night.
Unfortunately, that was not going to happen. Nobody knew why, but the power throughout the whole building had been cut. The bills had been paid, and it wasn't like there was a storm.
Still, all four men were too exhausted from their mission, their first mission as the new team of Weiss, to even consider heading down to the basement, also known as their mission room, and check the circuit breaker.
So, with a heavy heart, Omi set himself up for a freezing cold night. It didn't matter how many blankets he put on, the building was cold enough without worries of blackouts.

The young blond sighed as he finished putting as many blankets as he could onto his bed before climbing into it. The whole bed was cold, he felt like he was lying on a block of ice. He started to shiver violently and found that no matter what he did, he just couldn't sleep. He closed his eyes and tried to think of a warmer place.
Ken let out a sigh. "Omi, it's okay if you get closer. Just don't bother me."
Omi pouted, he'd had enough of being looked at by the others as a little kid. "Ken-kun, I am here to help you! We don't know what may happen during the mission."
Omi sighed as he opened his eyes. "Ken-kun's offer doesn't sound too bad right now. But, would he mind?" He sat up. "I guess it doesn't hurt to try..."

Ken had just climbed into his bed, shivering all the while. "Holy crap, this is freezing!" he muttered as his teeth chattered. He tried wrapping the blankets around himself, forming a cocoon, but it wasn't working very well. "Damn it..." He heard a knock on his door. "Wh-who is i-it?"
"Ken-kun? It's me!" Omi called from behind the wooden door.
"What do y-you want, O-Omi? I-it's too l-late at n-night to b-bother people, y-you know?"
Omi let out an affirmative sound. "I know. It's just that...I'm freezing. It sounds like you are too."
"A-and?"
"And...tonight you offered for me to get closer to you so I could feel warm. I...I was wondering if that offer is still on?"
Ken let out a frustrated sigh, followed by a sneeze. The cold was pretty overwhelming. "Y-you're not a l-little kid, right? Y-you don't n-need to s-sleep in another's bed."
"I'm not doing this for childlike security. I'm just thinking it would be beneficial for both of us to share a bed so we could have some heat tonight."
The former soccer-player thought about it. Well, it would feel better not freezing my ass off... "Alright. C-come in then."
The door opened and Omi stepped into the room. He had a blanket wrapped around him, covering him from head to toe. It was only his face that could be seen.
Ken tried to stifle a chuckle at Omi's appearance. "You l-look like a g-ghost."
Omi pouted. It quickly faded though and instead became a kind smile. It was out of place on an assassin, but since it was Omi, who appeared more innocent than anybody pure ("does such a person even exist?" both boys wondered), it suited him very well. He carefully shuffled over to the bed and threw his blanket over the pile, before sliding into the bed as well.
Ken quietly wrapped an arm around Omi's shoulders and held the younger teenager close. He could feel a difference already. "Don't think this is an ongoing thing."
Omi closed his eyes as he felt Ken's body heat seep into his own. He wrapped an arm around Ken's waist. "I know. Thank you, Ken-kun."
"Yeah, alright. Goodnight, Omi."
"Goodnight, Ken-kun."
The feeling of peace in the room that night, brought about by togetherness rather than solitude...that was one of the true feelings of Christmas.
