State of the site - At Wit's End
The problem with the main navigation page is still a problem. So, I contacted my server and host company to find out if it was an issue on their side or mine. They had a thousand and one suggestions for me...some of which I had already tried.
So, my last effort is to redownload my site software. This is a little different from the upgrade fiascoes I have had in the past. First, I have a cable modem now, so things go much faster. And second, I am importing the site back into the software from the server.
Unfortunately, this process leaves the site in disarray...for me at least. Everything that was organized into neat little folders is now strewn about. It's almost like someone came in and ransacked the place. Also, some pages that were older and not yet deleted from server are now back in my site box.
What all this means for me - I have a lot of work ahead of me. I have to reorganize and look at EVERY page. I have to delete the older pages and check EVERY link no matter how minor.
What this means for you - I will not be updating the site for at least a couple weeks while I get this straightened out. I am going to perform a test on the main navigation page and hopefully get a small word out to people who don't check the site blog, but other than that the site is on hiatus until I get everything back in order.
This could take a little while. *sigh*
I will update here with any relevant updates to the site comeback. Things will remain unchanged on the already uploaded site, so using the site map should get you where you need to be if the navigation page is still screwed.
Maybe I will throw a little party or contest or something when we get everything back the way it was. God knows *I'm going to need to do something fun.
