I'm so glad taht he had good chemistry with Charles Barkley, it was a nice interview.
I just hope Barkley took Johnny aside after the show and told him to get a better agent so that Johnny doesn't have to beg for sponsors on just about every show he's on because his agent isn't good enough. And she isn't. She cannot even handle not being blond.
Weir's idea with music guests and other artists sounds great and he's got the charisma to get the right people interested, but that alone is not enough. He should get a better (pro)support around him.
I'm curious whose job it is to round up sponsors, actually. Like is it the agent's job, or the manager's job? And does he even have a manager? And what's the difference between a manager and an agent? *is ignorant*
ETA: Not that I don't agree that he needs a better agent.
According to my internet research, an agent is probably the one who would round up sponsors and such, unless he got a "super manager" who might also do that for him, and also be in charge of handling the procurement of attorneys, etc, to "make things happen". Obviously, in an ice show situation, there would be a lot of legal stuff behind the scenes -- liability issues to cover, yadda.
For some reason, I really doubt Tara has the chops for this. I'd like to see her prove us wrong, though.
Looking at your icon, I can somehow imagine Charles Barkley scooping JW up and cuddling him like a baby. Not in a gay way, but in a big daddy kind of way.

Word is that none of the more established sports agents will go near him. And most agents in other fields won't take on athletes as clients. Tara is also unique among US figure skating agents in that she does not insist on holding the closet door shut so tightly - this is also presumably why she represents Jeremy Abbott and his fabulous eyeliner.
I agree that Johnny needs better representation; I'm just saying he doesn't have a whole lot of realistic options.
