FLAMING PINK GRYPHON
So there's this new DS game, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor. It's a tactical RPG set in modern-day Tokyo, in the Shibuya district. (Same place as The World Ends With You.) It's nigh-inevitable that I would buy such a thing.
So to my surprise, I found one of the titular demons that you can summon was a FLAMING PINK GRYPHON. He even drains life from your foes! However, the internet has no screenshots of him. The only image I've found thus far, in a few days of poking about, is this long video at 8:44. (Moriar comments: "Wow, that's a lot more pink than I thought it would be!")
The plot is terribly compelling, too. There's something different when the guy summoning the ancient spirit of retribution to slay the mob of misguided civilians is your elementary school friend, instead of the captain of the king's knights.
