Astrology, Billiards, Chocolate Twizzlers, and Tomatoes too

I'm back, after about two and a half weeks of nothing, nothing that exciting going on here (;P), just working hard and having odd dreams, and watching movies. Oh, yeah forgot, I did in fact get my dad to take me to Borders to pick up my copy of Exes and Ohs, but we all went out as a family to lunch first (which I paid for:)), and then they just dropped me off while they went to get other stuff, leaving me alone in my favorite bookstore. I also picked up this funny astrology book called Herscopes, and then I think the Thursday after I picked up this really big book on Astrology called the 'Llewellyn's Complete Book of Astrology: The Easy Way to Learn Astrology'. Why I'm reading Astrology, I have no clue, but it's really interesting, can't wait to make and read my family's birth charts, show them it's not a total crock.;p

I've also been playing billiards, never really been good at it before, but I'm liking it now. We play in this Mexican restaurant that makes good taco salads that my friends keeps telling me how nasty my food looks (after I mix guacamole, beef, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, refried beans, and tomatoes together) and is I like those things why don't I eat an actual taco. Well, because it's not a taco *salad* if it's a taco. Oh and speaking of tomatoes, we're finally serving them again. In case you've been living under a rock for the past few weeks, there's been an outbreak of salmonella in the United States, and restaurants everywhere have not been serving raw tomatoes because their supplier's tomatoes have been recalled, and some have done it as a precaution, like us for example, see our supply wasn't recalled, but our company decided to stop serving them just as a precaution.

We had signs posted everywhere too (they probably should've been bright colored or cartooned, because lots of people completely ignored them), and even through they were big and on every entrance, drive thru windows, drive thru menu board, we got a few stupid people. Thankfully this didn't happen to me, but one of the women at work she was working drive thru one night, and passed out the correct order, not mentioning anything about tomatoes because if the customer doesn't mention it, then why bother, there's signs, and well the woman drove back through to yell at her about how they forgot the tomatoes. I've gotton a few 'I'd like extra tomatoes with that' and I'm saying 'I'm sorry, we're not serving tomatoes right now' and these people clearly don't read because I'm being questioned with 'what?' and 'why?' which is all on the door that they opened. There's been a few people who walk up to the counter and complain how they don't have tomatoes, and then lots of people have to ask if there are any, which I just want to tell them that it's all on the freaking signs that's in their eyeline when they're entering.

I'm just so tired of hearing about tomatoes, and so is everyone else I'm working with too, there was this joke going around that maybe we need to make the signs elementary level with a cartooned tomato and a slash through it, maybe they'll understand then. So, I made a fake sign for my manager that said 'NO TOMATOES! [cartooned tomato with slash] READ THE FRACKING SIGNS!' she got a total kick out of it and so did everyone else who saw it. Most of the people I work with are cool, some of them are starting to annoy me though. There's this girl who just stands there doing nothing, just talking to her boyfriend, who happens to work with us, and I clearly could use help but does nothing, it's annoying. Take for example I had to make all the drive thru drinks, she's on the board with her boyfriend, which is right next to my station, and he's pretty much got it all going and she's just standing there doing nothing herself, and one of the soda runs out of syrup and I tell them I'm going to change the syrup, so they know that nobody's going to be there, I run to the back and haul about 80 pounds worth of syrup around to change out two different sodas. Guess what I come back to, pile up of all the food to the orders and I'm behind with the soda because people who weren't doing anything themselves didn't bother to help out when they knew I needed it, because they're too busy making googly eyes at their boyfriend.

And then the other day I'm on register, and she's working the fries which is the station that's expected to help run the orders if the people in the front aren't able to, and they're able to, and well since I wasn't able to due to actually taking the orders, it was a good time to actually help, did I get any, not really, half the time she took it to the counter, and put it down and looked at me who was taking orders from a line of people and told me how there was an order when she was perfectly capable of running it, and then went back to stand there and talk to her boyfriend in the back. Thankfully I'm off 'til Friday, so I can chill and not think too much about it, some people are just stupid. And I probably need to get my mind off work too, it's starting to give me odd dreams.

I had this dream that we had a whole other wing behind the kitchen that was only opened during the early morning, and it was really crowded, and I saw Cathy DeBuono there, and I tapped her on the shoulder and tried to introduce myself but she didn't care and ignored me, and then I went to clean the bathrooms, which were like showers. There was throw up everywhere and I threw up myself, and then I went back out and one of my managers had tkaen care of everyone already, and I found Cathy DeBuono sitting with this guy who I assumed was a publicist or and agent or something. He kept trying to interrupt me when I was trying to tell her how we'd talk online before, and then she knew who I was and apologized for being rude, told me how someday I'd be a famous publisher and gave me a bunch of socks that had outback steakhouse on them. I then showed them to my manager, who laughed and was just as confused as I was.

Another part of that dream included me looking for chocolate twizzlers, so I could give them to Laurie Notaro at her book signing. I really want to go, it happens to be the night of the date of my dermatologist appointment, so I'd have to have a day off work anyway, which would be nice because I worked through a couple of things I really wanted to go to and I don't have to work during this one. And her new book comes out tomorrow, or should I say today, so I should go for now, would like to get a copy and start reading it later, night.:D
