[OOC] Annoying things about some RPers in WrA

Jul 16, 2011 10:13

So far, but annoyance. This is why I prefer RPing Zain or my well-known chars out of sight, not in the public. It's just a few experiences, but I know most RPers in WrA are wonderful people and had fun RPing in the server. But there's some things that annoy me.

Scenario 1: People responding to me in OOC to what -Zain- has spoken IC.

Ok, I know Zain is a fucking douchebag and also a Mr. Capslock. But -that- is just the way he is. He speaks very loudly (See: Ragnaros), it's his normal voice and it hurts my immersion if I were to write/RP him in lower case. He's also rude. I never put ((welcome for walk up RP)) on his MRP anyway, he's not meant to be a walk-up RP character.

So today I was RPing with Dynast who was in a teleportation engineering malfunction. OOCly, I -do- know it's an engineering malfunction. ICly, Zain -doesn't-. So Zain asks: "DYNAST, WHY THE HELL ARE YOU PURPLE?"

And some guy comes to me, speaks within OOC parenthesis in a half-mockery way: ((I CAN'T TELL ARE YOU FISHING FOR AN ANSWER?! BECAUSE YOU KNOW, THAT'S AN ENGINEERING MALFUNCTION.))

Okay...? I know that. But -Zain- doesn't. I was clearly RPing because I was using emotes and Dynast replied in RP paragraph emote fashion too. So I politely informed in OOC that Zain was the one demanding the answer. Not me.

And the guy still tries to answer Zain's IC questions in OOC brackets. Urgh. It annoys me when people take IC for OOC. I had to correct the person again that Zain IS ALWAYS THAT LOUD AND SPEAKS IN CAPSLOCK AND I AM ACTUALLY IC until he got what I'm saying. My partner hates when people barge into our RP like that with OOC interruptions, it's rather embarrassing for both of us and it distracts us from RPing. Hate it when people do that. >8V

Scenario 2: People hating my way of RPing or Zain's capslock.

The first time I RP'ed Zain as a Blood Knight. He was yelling at some death knight for trying to chop an orc up. In capslock, of course.

Then some douche comes up to me, NOT IN WHISPERS, but right out in public in OOC brackets: ((Hey can you stop typing in capslock?))

I politely informed that that's the way Zain speaks and I am RPing. Then he/she continued on about how I am being very annoying and destroying their immersion, yadda yadda.

Hai, sir. If you don't like it, don't RP with me. You can put me on ignore instead of wasting 20mins of your time bickering with me when you could've used the time to walk away and get more RP! Simple?

---

Scenario 3: Shy people who OOC emote way too much.

Alright, people. Enough is enough. I don't mind people dropping by to give me a /hug or /love or /kiss because you know me from somewhere. Then make no attempts to walk-up RP with me and whine about how they'll never have the chance to RP with me.

Guys.

I do not bite. If you want to RP with me, walk up to my character, make an emote, strike a convo, do something eye-catching, whatever. I will be GLAD to RP with you.

Don't emote spam me and my partner while we're both in the middle of RPing and expect us to respond back. No, we won't do that, it's distracting. But we will definitely RESPOND back if you jump in to RP and react ICly. It doesn't hurt to do that. Don't ever feel bad that you might be interrupting us. We'd more rudely interrupted if you were to OOC emote and jump around us. No, please - JUST RP WITH US. WE WILL RP WITH YOU. 8D

If we are barring people from public RPing with us, we'd be hiding somewhere else and RPing in party or a private channel. Not openly in /s.

---

Scenario 4: Other stupid OOC interruptions.

So as said in Scenario 3, I prefer if people wanted to get to know me and my characters, they should just walk up RP and mingle. I seriously would RP with ANYONE. So don't be shy.

But what I hate is OOC interruptions in /s, griefing or not. If you need to speak to me OOCly, whisper, don't spam and clog the /s where other RPers are around, especially in Silvermoon or Orgrimmar.

So there was this one time, Ezidran and Dynast was just sitting on a bench, we're RPing. Some dude I barely know suddenly pops in front of us and begins to talk to us in OOC brackets, asking about his RP clothes, it was rather rude too. Something like:

Him: ((How's my clothes? This? Or this? Ok, I am giving you 2 secs to answer?))

Us: ..... *staring at him in bafflement*

Him: ((Dynast? Ezidran?)

Us: .... *still bewildered and trying to find words to reply*

Him: ((Pah, you both are not helpful!)) *Runs off*

Okay. What?

That was irritating. I barely knew the guy and he was treating us like we're old friends or whatever. I don't mind if a friend comes by to bother us OOCly because we know them well but a stranger? No.

---

Scenario 5: Passive-aggressive community.

'Nuff said. How would it kill us to be level-headed, responsible and mature adults in a discussion? Or in a problematic RP situation? Or in a situation that has gone wrong?

Be responsible for your own words and actions. Be direct but stay level-headed and non-accusatory. Voice out but don't be aggressive, insulting and rude.

Not THAT hard, WrA! >8U DON'T BE DICKS. Unless well, people are really really really dickish and beyond help. Then, go ahead.

wyrmrest accord, rant, ooc
