Enough of this shit....
Next time I travel to LA, my mom is getting DSL. Enough talking about it. This is it, she's getting it. One of the worst things about visiting her (besides the weather as of late, which I escaped just in time) is the lack of decent internet. And I know this seems like such a small thing, but when you can't check your email and as a result miss a phone appointment with your doctor, it gets on your nerves.
Plus what she pays for the most basic of cable is insane considering she gets no channels. She's getting screwed. For less a month she can get ATT u-verse with 250 channels AND a DVR, and then she won't have to worry about finding tapes for the VCR anymore, which is acting up anyway.
And then she'll have made her way to the 20th Century.
Another 15 years and maybe she'll creep into the 21st, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
