Everything and Nothing
I'm becoming an internet recluse.
Anyway, things going on with me. My mom had surgery last monday to remove part of her colon. That's a pretty major surgery so she had to stay in there til saturday. And now I'm staying with her for a little while, helping her with anything she needs. The hospital she had the surgery at just plain sucks, the building was old & outdated, anything that needed done seemed to happen at glacial speed and most of the nurses, etc seemed disinterested in doing their jobs.
While Mom was in the hospital my brother and I ended up having to break in her house to bring her some stuff because as it turned out the lock was jammed. Chris somehow managed to pop the screen out and jimmy the only ground floor window open. In The Dark. It was good times. And he and I went out to dinner after we delivered the stuff to Mom.
siren_mage and I went the the Paramore concert when they came thru Denver. We ended up having to buy our tickets from a scalper because Livenation had the wrong time for doors and by the time we got there the show had sold out. It was totally worth it though because Paramore was Amazing and Paper Route completely sold us on them during their set. B and I were both hoarse after the show. It was a great show and I had a great time hangin with her.
I got to talk to the best friend friday night. She's having a hard time dealing with some things in Samoa. The host family she's staying with right now are frustratingly unhelpful and she's been having issues with both allergies and insects both of which could exacerbated by stress. Things should get a whole bunch better for her when they move her to her permanent post and a completely different host family in a couple weeks.
It's looking like my Thanksgiving is going to be very small or maybe non-existent. I can't get my brother and Dad to settle on where we're having it or if we're going out to a restaurant and if we don't get that settled soon it's probably not even going to happen. If we do have it it's just going to be four of us - me, Dad, Chris, and my niece. Possibly Mom, but she's really not sure she'll be up for that much food, right now she's still mostly eating soup. I've said to Mom a couple time this past week that trying to organize something in our family is like herding cats. And Dad and Chris enjoy being difficult.
