I have a bad habit of downloading music and never getting around to listening to it. So today I decided to get around to listening to at least someof it. In the past 24 hrs I have listened to songs I'd never heard before from - Black Gold, The Heyday, Midtown, Kelly Clarkson, The Bird and The Bee, Modest Mouse, Ok Go, MC Frontalot, VersaEmerge, The Gaslight Anthem.
The VersaEmerge stuff I actually downloaded today, everything else had pretty much been sitting around for awhile. Let me tell you, VersaEmerge's first EP, from before Sierra was in the band, was lolarious. The second EP was pretty good but not as quite as well done as the latest.
Hmm, what else do I have an opinion on? Midtown's Forget What You know was pretty damn good, I definitely agree with the people who said it was their best album. I really dig Black Gold's album Rush, there's much awesomeness there. The Bird and The Bee and The Gaslight Anthem don't really seem to be my thing but I did enjoy one Bee song - Love Letter to Japan. I was less than impressed with I Ever Wanted, Kelly Clarkson's latest. What did they do to that poor girl's voice? There's only two songs on that album I truly liked and I actually hate the current single. I already knew I liked Ok Go and Modest Mouse , I just finally have more music to back up that like.
I think I'm about on new music overload though. It's probably time to go back to my last playlist. Or ohhh, I think it might be time to build me a new playlist!
