Mindless babblings of a tired young hack

It struck me today, while eating a nicely prepared cake and sitting on our newly acquired couch just how amazing life can be sometimes.

I guess you could say that this is something that has been going through my mind ever since Rachael got back home.

Ask yourself - how many moments do you find yourself sitting on a couch with someone you love, mindlessly passing time waiting for something, anything. And just how many times have you, like any human being, taken this time forgranted. Seemingly forgetting how empty your life would be without the person next to you. And how scary the depths of that empty hole are.

It doesn't happen often, but when this information whizzes past you, well, I guess you learn something. What it means to be happy and so spoiled by this happiness that you don't realize how rich of an experience it is. What it is to have a companion, a life-mate, a soul-mate or a friend. What it is to live and most importantly what it is to be mortal.

And then you soak back into the relaxing chaos of television or whatever else. Take the trash out, walk the dog, do the dishes and go to work. Maybe there is only so much you can learn and observe about life before you aren't actually living it anymore.
