The almighty bang that was Children of Earth

Feb 09, 2010 20:24

The reviews finally. Okay, not reviews but thought and squees. Squees mainly for the fun that was Notting Hill. Julia Roberts was meh. I personally think one of her most mediocre movies. But its also the characer doesn't have flair, which is kind of good. Portraying "movie star" as a boring person. Maybe it was because it was Hugh Grant as well, I mean, I like the guy. And I generally like his movies. But...give me Julia and Richard Gere (did you know his middle name is Tiffany? :P). I just think they had great screen chemistry. Or perhaps its just my bias over Richard -Tiffany- Gere? Put Hugh Grant and Richard Gere in the room and its going to be Richard every time. Even if he's also got drunk with teen/college girls, like Hugh. I don't care. I'll take Richard. xD

Okay. Onwards to the movie and shows!
*shocked face*
I thought the bookstore reminded me of Black Books. And what happens in practically the first scene? DYLAN MORAN!! XD HILARIOUS!!!

And the other person, Martin?gay!guy, reminds me of Remus Lupin

Whoa. FUNNY. Hugh’s a horse reporter, from Horse & Hound. Interviweing for a space movie?? *rollsonfloorlaughing*

OMGOSH! It’s ALICE from The Vicar of Dibley! THIS MOVIE IS SOOO GOING TO BE MY NEXT FAVOURITE THING. If I have favourites at all that is…

The brother guy? Seen him around bit like Bill Murray?

The wheel chair sister? Seen her around...

Is this a Ronan Keating song? Damn it’s still following me… before I go to the concert in a few days!

SANJEEV!! *jaw hits floor* This film has every single thing doesn’t it? Well, every single British thing. ;)

Boyfriend of Anna Scott? Now who is he? Alec Baldwin? Guy off 30 rock?

Eric bana? Was that the guy Alice Horton’ (not the movie character name) was dating in that winter/spring montage?

Gosh he (William Thacker) gets screwed around a few times by her!

*snort* he had to look at what shirt he was wearing! xD Because running around London you forget, you know?

Oh my freakin’ gosh. It took me the whole movie to realize that girl in the wheelchair is Jane off Coupling? It IS isn’t it? *headdesk* She just looks different. *looks her up* No. Wrong again. It’s not her. But that’s who she reminded me of…I think.

Torchwood Season 3: Children of the Earth.
Episode 1: Day 1
Freakin’ hell. Jack and Ianto are just adorable together.
Freaky children. Like Doctor Who’s Masked Child. I like.
*croaks* Gosh gosh gosh. Torture/kill Jack is what’s going to be in EVERY episode here? I can’t watch.

But I will.

*bites lip* They put a BOMB in him!? :O
He smelt her and he knew. Er. Nice super alien power?
God. Gwen is pregnant. *covers face with hand*
Oh my, Jack knew first. Heh.
Poor Gwen reality is sinking in that she’s not going to ever be with Jack. :(
Jack is reading her mind and pushes her to say it’s a good thing.
“Ianto! We’re having a baby!”
*snickers* Best line ever!

I think Ianto was unsure if a real birth was happening there and then or not. You know how it goes with Torchwood…

When he’s standing at the top it’s like a big happy BUNCH OF IDIOTS WHO SHOULD BE FOCUSING ON THE CASE!! family. My TW OTP3! ^^

Gah!
Jack must come back…
...he’s Boe isn’t he?
God how painful it’s going to be… having molecules and pieces forming again…

Oh, yeah I hope Gwen and Ianto are okay too. :P

Episode 2: Day 2
That black ops army woman is a bit tough yeah.

Torture Jack. :(
Through torture/death it must be how he becomes so calm and knowing. A few (hundred?) years of dying buried underground before being frozen by Torchwood. Now death by concrete. *is sad*

Wow. This season is like a fractured action movie.
AWESOME Gwen and Ianto moves!
Ianto has SO GROWN through the seasons!!
Oh cannot wait for more.

Oh, and Jack and especially Ianto each have lovely family too.

Episode 3: Day 3
Probably the most boring of this season’s so far. But not bad in some points.
Highlights for me: The team doing La Hustle con man style.
And Jack putting his foot in it about knowing Gwen’s pregnancy before hand, also McClements “smelling” Ianto as “queer”. LOL. Plot is coming along ok, I guess.

Episode 4: Day 4
I’m liking Lois. She’s standing up for herself and others.

Oh, that mean/tough black ops chick is getting a bit left out and feeling the need to know more, huh?

Clem. Oh Clem. Realising the guy who sent you to die, was never allowed to die himself.

Ianto is having issues with Jack.

Plot is better than before, maybe?

I LOVE it when Gwen (Torchwood) just “tells” it to people and the people usually think they are in power, but then they get a bit off balanced.

Lois, Lois, Lois, finally getting a bit of a spine? Tough crowd though.

CRAP. Killing all of those in the building to show that they mean business…how are they meant to fight something that obviously has control over their own electronics?? How can this end in ONE more episode?!

I was no WAY going to gloss over him. Okay people? *looks at you pointedly*

IANTO.

Ianto, Ianto, Ianto. Oh, and you’re worried about him remembering you? I’m so sorry you feel that way. I guess you knew it could happen, you talked to your family. *sigh* That silly guy spying on your phone call didn’t tell the ‘mean/tough’ chick (yeah I can’t remember her name) about what Ianto thought was happening, the children! She would have been interested I think, that’s why she was going to London to get more information!

Ianto. :(

The only thing I can say is that your death was, so far, the quickest of them all. I can’t *bear* to think about Gwen now…

Gwen and Jack, sad, horrible scene.

And really Jack, (I know you’ll be angered to a great extent but) As Gwen said, there’s nothing they can do. So, does Gwen think she’ll be next? *is sad* Why did RTD do that? He must like death and the way it affects people?

I think the ‘mean/tough’ chick is now kind of on their side, but only if they can think of something that would work. But otherwise she won’t help a pointless thing.

Side note: You know out of all the Torchwood deaths, I think it must be either Suzie or Owen that had the ‘worst’ deaths. Yes, partly due to the fact that they got to “come” back and re-live death. But other things too.

Episode 5: Day 5.
So saw it a day earlier than airing, because we got the DVD from the library. And whoa.

I wish I had waited in a way. In a big way.

The Frobisher deaths were both saddening and humbling in a way…but if he could fight for them, (I guess he couldn’t the way he took it) why couldn’t he fight for everyone and let Jack do his thing?

Oooh, that Frobisher’s right hand woman was cunning at the end eyy? ^^

HA! The Earth is big drug lab. Pfftt. Prime Minister and Frobisher are drug dealers. *lots of laughs*

And that spew stuff, is their reactions to the children’s chemicals! Their addicted to us. Hm that’s kind of what the Doctor is like yes? Addicted to being around humans…plot there…

PC Andy! And Not!PC Andy! *g* He was cute that he felt he needed to take his jacket off to fight for the rights of the children…but if I was him I would have taken whatever police baton he had and used it.

TOLD you that black ops badass (yes, this term is the only other word apart from B$%^* that I thought fit, blame Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy books!) would give in and ask for Torchwood/Jack’s help.

Poor Jack’s daughter. Yeah, forgetting names that’s me.

Russell T Davies.
Now, how bloody torturous do you want to be to Jack?? You FREAKIN’ RIPPED out our hearts!!! (I’m glad that they seem to regenerate, after each time you do that, and I’m SO interested in how you will rip my heart for David Tennant out now! OMGOSH. Just, no. No. Yes!! :P)

At least you’ll be gone after that, wait. There’s rumours of season 4 Torchwood.
O_o

~~ Past here not really specific thought on ep. More what I could see happening/want to ~~

So unsure if I want that. For our imagination and fanfiction it would be brilliant if it was left here I think. If I’m honest (and I try to be most of the time), this is the best place to have Jack wandering time and the universe. Leave Gwen with her devoted husband and child to be. And we can imagine Captain Jack Harkness trying to lose his soul and himself. But not succeeding. Going back to Earth briefly to mend things with Gwen and maybe see her child. And then he finds the Doctor again, and they repair one another in different ways. And The Doctor shows Jack more of life and the universe and helps educate him to become the Face of Boe. And maybe, just maybe they come across Rose also. But that’s in a story off the story off the end of Torchwood.

Yes. See how idealistic I am? *rolls eyes*

In my perfect just Torchwood verse I want Torchwood season 4 to include Lois as a member, Gwen (and I feel bad typing this) has complications with the baby. :( And Rhys is also devastated but their lives go on. Jack comes back, in one of the ways only he would. Perhaps when Gwen and Lois are conducting something important somewhere? And you know, more Torchwood shit happens aftre that. *g*

Saddened*

*Indicated state of mind immediately after end of seeing the season 3.

Now. Shower, and ready myself for new NCIS 7x08 Power Down!
