Happy Australia Day for those few Aussies on my friends-list! *waves at those few*
We didn't have any family over, or even the BBQ that is usually a compulsory thing for days like this. Dad had to work, though Mum and I went out (again!) to Southland and did some shopping, I've been looking at different DVD (tv & movie) prices. Yesterday I got
- 2 t-shirts, one blue with a silver sparkly stuff stuck on top of the hands of a clock (yes, I thought DW and stuff immediately. >_<) , the other a white longer down to top of the thighs/around pelvis that has a black design on it. Both are a bit lower cut than I'm normally used to, but they were on special (one was 8 dollars, the other 14.95?) and I have begun to really need some more t-shirts, I still have ones that I got in primary school that I'm still wearing around the house, and sometimes out and a few of those are beginning to get holes....yeah, if you've clicked on the cut now, you know my kind of shopping, I don't. I also almost got another t-shirt but in the end didn't. It was probably the one I liked the most (ie fitted nicer, higher neck, thicker cotton) but I thought I could live with those two for now. And I almost considered getting two or one of the black cotton (i think?) dresses, more of a t-shirt style, at least they weren't fully "strappy" or "frilly". But, one was full priced, and the other...I don't think I'd wear it that often for now at least. I haven't been out much. Though I admit, those two were more 'me', even if one of them was reminding me of a 'grandma' collar dress. You know the flat collar at the neck? This wasn't that bad, but a slight reminder. I guess if i'd had some clunky shiny necklace/jewellery or something it would have been good. Ugh. More clothing/effort? NO thanks.
- exchanged my 'Spicks and Specks- Interactive Game Quiz' to JB- HiFi, only got a bit of what friends originally paid ($24.85) but oh well, I can now stop worrying about the first ever gift of a thing I already have (which THREE friends bought me no less! *headdesk*) and worry about what I should get, this is waht spurred me looking at DVD prices. I could buy Moonlight...
Today, mum returned one pair of shoes, and bought another from a different store (Myer). And I rushed around looking for clothes and/or DVDs. I ended up running walking briskly across the shop bridge way to get to Target before closing time 5pm, to buy one of the few I had seriously considered buying yesterday, and after not seeing it anywhere else today bought Notting Hill. *looks at you expectedly* Are you judging me? If so, good. You should be. I haven't seen it yet. Or I blank on trying to remember it everytime I hear about the title...I mean its JULIA ROBERTS. And Hugh Grant. I've seen plenty of their seperate movies but how bad could this be? *points to pile of fanfiction I might need to immerse myself in afterwards* I know I'm a romantic at heart. Most people are to certain extents, but I don't go looking for romantic movies, most of the ones I've seen have been on TV after a few years that it was in the cinema's. The ones I can remember seeing at the cinema are: - Maid In Manhattan (namely because I used to think mum wasn't into action movies), Two Weeks Notice (again with Mum)
- Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Failure to Launch (both because I/someone I knew won tickets to it)
Movies I would like to see that are either playing here or coming:
Avatar 3D [M],
Nine [M], Sherlock Holmes,
Bran Nue Dae [PG],
Fantastic Mr. Fox [PG]. Opening soon/later this year:
Daybreakers [MA 15+] (just to see who plays what, SO many Aussies/people I know [Ethan Hawke | Willem Dafoe | Sam Neill | Vince Colosimo | Jay Laga'aia (Jay would be a cool vampire, the contrast in his eyes they could do! But Playschool presenter? LOL) | Claudia Karvan | Isabel Lucas],
Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief [TBC] (Feb 11!) SUCH a good/pretty cast.
MELINA Kanakaredes! I don't care so much about Rosario, Pierce or Uma but MELINA! I'd SO pay a ticket (even at full adult price if I had to) to see her on the big screen...even if its for just one scene! Now. I need to find someone to go with. *sighs*,
Valentine's Day [TBC] (Feb 11) Oh gosh! No. But how can I resist, SO many bloody (excuse my Australian) NAMES! ,
Wolfman, The [TBC](Feb 11),
3D - Alice In Wonderland [TBC](4 March) Time Burton.,
Creation [PG](1 April) I hope this ISN'T a joke. and ... of course...
Back-Up Plan, The [TBC] (27th May!) SO long away! *facepalms* Okay, let me state for those who have never read my thoughts regarding this. NOT for J-Lo! I know she can't act. BUT I VANT WANT ALEX O'LOUGHLIN. ♥ ^ ^ You should check the trailer out, it has music by Michael Franti and Spearhead who captured my heart and started me listening to more music ages ago. Before that it was a toss up bewteen Rolf Harris and Dusty Springfield. This was when I was in early primary school. >_> My friends thought my taste was a little weird. Oh, and of course the Village People. *cough* See my problems? ... I should really go find their stuff again...
Oh, and on that note why I came one here to post. Tennis. (yes Village People and Tennis...related how?) You'll see. Aussies lost to the number ones Serena and Roger yesterday. Roddick, hurt his shoulder today, and lost to Maran Cilic. :( My sad dream was for a Roddick/Federer final, or Roddick/Djockovic. (yes, *do* notice the way I wrote that, it has meaning). So Chilic gets to his first Semi-final here. And tonight Nadal played the other Andy (Murray), Murray won, Nadal hurt his knee and withdrew about 3 games before Murray would have won. 6-3 7-6 3-0. Verdasco lost the other night too boo not Spanish guys left. I think it might be finally Murray's time! He should at least reach the final. In the women's a Chinese Zheng has become the first Chinese to get to the semi-final, she plays Henin. Wow, how she played today was...wow. There's also another Chinese player to make it to Quarter finals lets see how she fares against Venus W. Bryan Brothers won tonight. Love'em. The can almost out class the Aussie Woodies in my opinion. Woodies won againt Rafter and Leconte (French guy I don't know of) in the doubles Legends. Now. Back to
Andy Murray was interviewed by Jim Courier (american ex-tennis player, become a bit of a icon at the open down here now) Jim wanted to keep asking questions because the match finished "early", which I thought was a little unfair. Sure it wasn't a five-setter but both Murray and Nadal played almost 3 sets, one a tie-breaker. And they breaked for the Aus Day fireworks. So it wasn't really 'short'. Just because they didn't make it longer doesn't mean they can be stopped for longer, when they still have a heck of a lot to get through before they can finally rest (tv/read) or sleep. They have after match press conference. And physio, cool down/warm ups, stretches. A lot. So Jim does get on my nerves sometimes. But he knows it he's been a player, but there's more these days I think. Anyway, Jim was interviewing Andy saying he played a few Serve-volleys and asking him about that. Then he asked something close to thses words were said:
Jim- So I hear you have some pretty strange other things you do too. Not just that betting stuff. I've been told you bathe for hours in water with ice filled in? That's crazy!
Andy- Heh. Um, yeah. My physio gets me to after some matches, he thinks it helps recover or something. I guess it does, I have been pretty good. I probably won't tonight the time, but maybe tomorrow he'll make me...
Jim- I can't imagine it. Is that when your coach gets up close and personal to you, when you're vulnerable like that? And try and get in your head things?
Andy- Well, I actually said to him if he wanted to do that he'd have to get in the tub with me. *kind of smirks*
Jim- OH! Really? Has he taken you up on that? Is the tub really big?
Andy *dead panned*- No. It's really small.
*dies* <--- that's me. My brother also, *literally* facepalmed himself when we got that mental image. Thanks, Murray...
You know, I dabble in slash, and that? GOSH! Best storyline ever. I almost want to try my hand at it. It reminded me of
satinomoonbeam and her tennis stories/slashes. Heh.
Uh, that is all.
EDIT: Forgot to say you can now watch the Hit for Haiti with the top stars online, remember they were all wearing microphones so you can hear what they say while playing, it makes it fun! I *think* overseas people can see too. Tell me if you can't and I'll take the link down.
