Surprisingly my life has been moving along without LJ. I know this shocks you but please don't pass out on my behalf. Take a seat *gestures*
I got knocked back for a job with Tennis Australia, and secured a volunteer job with Melbourne Writer's Festival for next month. So if you drop by please be nice to the volunteer staff you see- it might be me!
I hope I get okay shifts because there are a few things I'd like to see myself and ones that don't mix too near my uni times, but I did block out most of my uni classes. I'd love to be in the room with Julia Zemiro and Tess Gerritsen (Rizzoli & Isles) and other authors- those two women on the same stage? I don't think there's many other ways to describe that other than... well, awesome. I'd like to see Maggie Stiefvater (
m_stiefvater ) also but she also has a few appearances happening outside of the festival so if none of my shifts clash with those I could still see her either at Dymocks on Friday 2nd or Readings on Saturday 3rd. There's a few other sessions here and there I wouldn't mind (anything led by Jason Steger as host, Marieke Hardy, the Shaun Tan keynote or his other sessions, Emily Rodda, Kate Grenville) but really I just hope to have fun and if I'm lucky get to see Julia Zemiro/Tess Gerritsen/Maggie Stiefvater. *fingers crossed*
One week left of my break, and only a few days left of the MS Readathon Novel Challenge! And I'd like to enter a few writing/short story competitions around. And of course, see the Harry Potter movie.
If you can spare some, donations (of any size $5 is still useful to the multiple sclerosis research cause) please head over to
this link and donate before we finish our Readathon Challenge. I've read 3 books only so far (I was sick for a while so...) but I'm going to try and make it 4 or 5.
