Hi, I am new to the community. I have a 3 year old going to be 4 this May Weimaraner named Ronan. I will post pictures of him when I get home tonight. I have to say I love Weims, I grew up with them and when I got married I got a Weim. Ronan is a pretty good boy except for his problem with counter surfing. Lately we have had baby gates set up to keep him out of the kitchen and the rest of the house while we are at work. He has full run of our back room which has a doggy door set up in it. Recently he has tried experiments with breaking the baby gates down. So we have now replaced the gates with sides from his old kennel that we used to have set up for his bed. Now that we have found the studs in the wall the new gates seem to stay up.
A little while ago we took him to the vet for a chronic ear infection and discovered that he has allergies and that is what is causing his ear infection. So we changed his diet from Science Diet to Blue Buffalo, which doesn't have corn, soy, or wheat in it. Now that we have changed him over his ears have completely cleared up. Has anyone else had problems with their Weim's ears?
