Introduction

Nov 03, 2009 18:41

Hi, everybody. I'm new here, so I figured I'd introduce myself. I'm bummed that I missed the start of the challenge that you're all doing but I'm hoping that a new one will start soon and I look forward to that.

What is your name?: Kelly
And, how old would you claim to be?: 31
How tall are you?: 5'7"

What was/is your starting weight?: 281
What do you currently weigh?: 268
This would mean you have lost how much to date?: 13 lbs, although the 281 was a nighttime weighing, which always gets a higher number than a morning weighing, so I kind of feel like I'm cheating a bit with that number.

Sometimes mini-goals work best. If you have one, what is it?: To get to a size 18 again.

What weight would you like to settle at?: I don't really know. I'm guessing about 130, although I'll have to see how I look as I get closer to that number. If I find that I'm happy at a higher weight, I'll stop there.

What exactly is your plan of action to reach your goal(s)?: I'm making most of my food from scratch and eating fewer processed foods. I'm also eating out on only the rarest of occasions. I've been walking a bit but I plan to step up the exercise and have bought the Biggest Loser Wii game.

Most of us have figured out what doesn't work, so we want to know what works for you: not eating after 9 or 10pm makes a big difference for me.

Do you have anything else to add?: I've successfully lost weight a few times but have always gained it back after about 2 years of maintaining and I really want to break that cycle. My husband, who is also overweight, has always made losing weight difficult for me because of his resistance to try to change his lifestyle. Since his gallbladder surgery 2 weeks ago, he's finally made a decision to mke some big changes and I'm feeling very positive about this time because we'll finally be a team and help to support each other. So far, he's lost 20 lbs and I've lost 13, so I'm very optimistic.
