The History of Noodles.

Some Chinese guys thought it was a good idea to make some long stringy things but didn't actually think string was going to taste good so they spent years perfecting the recipe for what they were calling "oodles", when when Christopher Columbus came to China he brought the "oodles" back to Italy where everyone thought they would taste fucking excellent with tomato sauce, which turned out to be true, and they called it "spagetti" which is Italian for "Totally Awesome Noodles with Tomato Sauce", and continued to make literally thousands of noodle dishes, it is at this point I will add that the term "noodle" was invented in Italy, because Christopher Columbus's tech guys mistranslated the Chinese text that was scribbled on the barrel of "oodles". Way before this though, the Japanese were coming to China because China had actually owned the lower part of Japan we now know as Okinawa (which is true) and they had brought their cuisine over to Okinawa so they wouldn't forget the taste of home, even though they wre technically still in a Chinese territory. The Japanese however, took the food and found a way to make noodles out of other things like wheat, and then came Soba noodles, and found out ways to make thicker noodles and then came Udon noodles, and then thought up ways they could add other things to the noodles so that they would not just be noodles. From this sprang forth all sorts of delicious dishes that we all can enjoy today. Keep in mind though, that the story of noodles does not end here, and hundreds of other countries recieced the noodle in some form over the years, it was just the combination of the Italian, Chinese, and Japanese effort that made the noodle really kick ass.

Oh yeah, and at some point the noodle came down to Thailand where it continues to kick much ass, but you can imagine how it got there as it is connected to China, like a lot of things.
