I've calculated... for exactly 52 days i have not cried at all... not counting the days that people made me laugh till i cried. I mean crying with emotion and bawling my eyes out until they are swollen...
Until today.... i just finish watching "The Notebook"... it's been a long time since a movie touched me so much. The exact movie that gave me a reason to be sad and cry like nobody's business. I made a pact with myself to at least cry and let the tears flow at least once a month. I know it may sound weird but i think it's healthy to do so. At least i won't bottle up so much emotions inside to make me even more screwed up than i already am. Now, i'm a proud owner of having a pair of red, swollen eyes that makes me look like i have conjunctivitis and i'm a happier person.
Watch the show... it's a really great love between this couple (Noah and Ally). Ally is now old and has dementia but Noah stayed with her throughout this period and read her their life story everyday even though she can't remember. I'm not going to lie... it's a typical love story set in the Southern State and they recap their lives. All in all, love conquers everything and to find a man like Noah... my god... it's gonna be hard. Plus factor - the lead actor is quite cute. The idea of a loving old couple somehow never fail to touch me.
I'm trying to recall what other movies made me cry so much and i can only think these few:
- Tigger the Movie: Dun laugh... it's a touching show movie ok..so what if it is a cartoon... the idea of longing for a family and realising that they are the people around you is touching hor... especially the part when Roo told Tigger he wants to be his brother... Wah lau!!!!!!!
- Kolya: Russian film (Yes, i can be artsy too ok....) Story about how a grandpa takes care of his orphaned grandson... The bond they had made me cry until I couldnt go to school the next day coz my eyes couldnt be opened at all.
- Jack: Robin Williams being a big kid and all may be wrong but the storyline was seriously sad
- My Life: Old show starring Nicole Kidman and Michael Keaton... Damn sad i tell u... Mike suffers from last stage cancer only to find out his wife is pregnant and he wont be able to live through to see the birth of his child.... Cry, cry, cry...
- Tuesdays with Morrie: The book already made me sniffle so bad... until hallmark made the film... it was the movie for me to cry in June'05 (Thank u Oprah)
- Steel Magnolias: CLassic weeper... and pro-feminist... Power.... with a great cast...
Cant think anymore... Need to rush assignment liao....
