RETRACTION
Okay, I AM a fuck-up, but at least I admit my mistakes. I called Bullseye dog rescue to ask them if the REALLY don't adopt dogs to same-sex couples. When the woman on the other end stopped laughing, she said exactly what ironymaiden said--they won't adopt a pit bull to a home that has another PIT BULL of the same sex.
She went on to tell me that two of the founders of Bullseye are a lesbian couple.
Durp.
Yes, I am red-faced. But the happy news is, the people at Bullseye aren't psychos after all. Pitties sometimes have aggression issues with dogs of their own sex. Not all the time, but it happens enough that they just decided not to take any chances.
And they assured me that they don't care if the pibbles themselves are gay or not.
