Was fun. I missed last year, cuz I was still all wimpy from having pneumonia. This time I was happy and healthy, which was a good thing, because I was on a lot of panels. They were all fun, even the one where our subject material ran out 20 minutes into the panel, because a roomful of horror movie fans can always keep each other entertained.
THANK YOU to everybody who came to my reading! It went really well.
Saturday Daniel, Fenris and Orion came to the convention to check it out. The kids had a blast, but they burned out early and went home around 7. I kind of expected Fenris to overload, but I was surprised when O pooped out. Turns out he was getting a gnarly lung infection.
Sunday I'd planned to stay home and do Easter with the kids. Well, O was barking like a seal, and Fenris got some kind of intestinal evil, so we punted Easter to the following weekend. (Sorry Jesus, but you can't get up yet.)
Monday I drove up to Vancouver with my dear friend
dinogrl. We had a great time yakking in the car. I don't get to see nearly enough of that lady. We went up to the top of the Vancouver tower, which was cool and, um, Space Needle-like. Except it was enclosed. We got hungry and lucked out--we hit a mall that was entirely Asian. We were pretty much the only white people there, which was awesome--it was like we'd traveled much farther than Canada. I got a really yummy mushroom-and-noodle dish. Poor Dinogrl got mashed potato pizza. No, really! She turned slightly green. Luckily there was a lot of the noodle stuff, so we shared. And hey, at least neither one of us ate THIS!
Or THIS!
We drove back home on Tuesday, in dinogrl's fine little dinomobile. And because we didn't eat spam on macaroni, we survived the trip.
