This shangri-la diet sure is something. Been doing it for a few days (three? four? i don't know), and I have to say that I am enjoying it. Suriously. Lacy. Enjoying a diet! (Okay, to be fair it isn't really a diet so much as a method. Like the guy says, "no subtraction, only addition".)
It's pretty awesome. I've been drinking my hot sugar water (which really is rather pleasant if you get the amount of water right, just a nice soothing cup of warm weak tea), and from the time you drink it it really does make you less hungry. Ok, I admit the first couple times I wasn't really hungry cause I was kinda nauseated from drinking a cup of hot sugar water? But I mean past that, it just kinda makes you forget that you would normally be snacking. It's pretty awesome. Add in the fact that when you do get hungry it takes much less to fill you up and you are sooooo set. I woke up this morning and was didn't want to finish a string cheese, which sounds dangerously sever until you consider that I don't eat breakfast and was unsure about when exactly I purchased said string cheese (reference that only max has a chance of understanding:
"Get the cheese to sickbay!" Oh god how much do I love Voyager?). Lunch was half a wrap and a bite of a cookie and I was so full I complained to Max about feeling nauseous.
The cravings for junk food are gone. I've got pirate's booty and a thing of chocolate and cocoa almonds, and I can eat about 4 almonds before I just feel like bwuh, why eat these? And besides, the cravings for a little something sweet are easily filled by the sugar water itself! Sweet! (no pun intended! okay maybe just a tickle.)
All that goodness plus profuse amounts of Guster, good amounts of Max, and laying in bed reading with the sun shining upon mah smiling face, and I'm feelin pretty damn good.
Also I am so ready for spring. I want fresh fruits and veggies and salads, I wanna lay on the grass in the sun and on the beach in the sun and in the pool in the sun! Very pleased to be getting out of the chilly city and into the nice warm sunny friendly beautiful suburbs of Marin. Wooooooooooooooooooooo life.
