I am long overdue for an update. Word. And it's fitting that I am in the Periodicals as I type this. I swear half of my posts are from when I am in the Periodicals, and supposed to be studying...
SO here we go, peeps...
- School. It's crazy! I'm just getting completely immersed in the film program, it's great. Making films is fun, the kids in my major are cool, and I'm just going crazy. In a good way. Right now, I'm working on a documentary about
Sammy's. It's been really fun. I'm interviewing Sam (of Sammy's...) tomorrow, and I'll go in to film tomorrow night, because they are doing a show with
Benton Paul! I'm just going hyperlink crazy right now. It's great. I've also got a short fiction film due at the end of the semester. I'll keep y'all posted on how that goes. I've also been helping Stephanie out with Battle of the Bands. She's in BYUSA, and spearheading the event... so I've been helping get that all ready to go, and ready to rock. It's been crazy busy, but a lot of fun!
- Work. I "quit" my finance job... er... put it on hold. Because I got an editing job! I'm an assistant editor for this documentary about India. One of the faculty members from the Film Program went to India a while ago, and got a bunch of footage to make a doc. It'll have a lot of stuff about BYU students studying abroad, and stuff about the church (LDS church) in India. So basically what I get to do, is watch all of this raw footage, log, and capture it. I'm like organizing all the footage into clips for the director to be able to go through his footage more efficiently. They even said I may get to help with the actual end process, putting it together and such. Way fun. I get to work in "The Cave," it's this lab with about 5 mac computers on these huge desks, with an extra screen connected to each computer where you watch your footage. Bamf.
- Life. School and work basically is my life right now. Haha, nah... I make time for friends, too. In fact, Kevin just called asking if I wanted to be on his intramural volleyball team! Yeah! I love doing that. Let's see, I went to Sherwood/Barcelona last week at the Velour. I love it when they play at small venues. It was rocking. Sherwood was great, of course. Got pics with the band. And Barcelona was a pleasant surprise. They are from Seattle, too! I got their album from a friend. Worrrrd.
Well, this weekend is going to kick my butt. Starting tomorrow, I've got: Interview with Sam, Work, Passing out shirts/spreading the word for Battle of the Bands, Dinner date, Filming my documentary, and then helping with BYU's Final Cut (BYU's Student Film festival). And that's just Friday. Saturday, I've got: Library in the morning to write my midterm paper, Football Game at noon, editing my documentary, then getting Battle of the Bands all set up and ready to go! It's gonna be crazyyyyy I don't even know.
thanks for tuning in
