Eliot didn’t tell anyone else where he lived, and Parker never let anyone share her bed

Workplace romances (or affairs as the case may be) never work out. Both of them had come to realize that the team was more important than their own transient, physical needs.

Sex was a distraction neither of them could afford.

But one night, Parker showed up at Eliot’s uninvited. She wouldn’t share her bed, but she was willing to warm his. There might have been something wrong with her, but it took someone who was more than a little crazy to let Eliot get that close. It wasn’t about need or sex; it was about trust and faith, believing in something bigger than themselves while separate from the team.
Eliot appreciated Parker’s flexibility. Parker respected Eliot’s ingenuity. Sex was a distraction neither could afford, but love was an unexpected treasure they were unwilling to disregard.
