People...they're pretty awesome.

Before my mom passed away she started collecting state quarters - three sets; one for herself, one for Ab and one for T. After she died there was some discussion among the aunts about how to organize and finish the collection. Jeanne was afraid that it would never get sorted out and took over.

With some solid effort and help from all parties, the collections were almost complete. We just needed 4 more quarters. So, at Jeanne's request, I put out a note by the sign-in sheet at school explaining the situation and asking for people to keep an eye out for Washington, Arkansas, Alaska and Hawaii quarters.

This afternoon, two different teachers I work with called me from home to ask if I still needed quarters because they were going through their change. Seriously? How awesome are they! [Julie, I have that Arkansas quarter for you!] This is something I learned when I started doing the Avon Walk, and I've seen it so much this fall - if given the opportunity to help, people will. But you have to ask first. Sometimes it really is that simple.
