Come to my garden

S's birthday weekend was a good one :) We decided to stay in on Friday night and watch a movie On Demand (The Illusionist, pretty good). On Saturday, we went to Hillwood Museum and Gardens in DC. It was fascinating all the stuff that Marjorie Merriweather Post collected- tons of 18th century French furniture and objects (one chair belonged to Marie Antoinette), as well as historical Russian pieces. The house was beautiful and the gardens were charming. We had high tea there and enjoyed a few hours wandering around and listening to our audio tours. Ah, and it was "Gay Day" at Hillwood, so we were amongst lots of family. We'd definitely go back again in the future. Afterwards, we met my parents at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and then did some shopping at Columbia Town Center.

Sunday morning was relaxing. We dined on nutella and cherry crepes for breakfast, picked up some food at the farmer's market, and then went to see a movie at the AFI Theater in Silver Spring. We saw Hamlet 2 which I can't say was the greatest movie, although we enjoyed it enough ;) Then off we went to Lia's in Bethesda/Chevy Chase for a birthday dinner with S's family and friends. S's dessert arrived with a candle and we all got to sing to her. Lovely evening.
