My spotz...let me show you them

Jul 11, 2008 13:26

I've had a mildly sore throat the past 2 days. Last night I shone the flashlight on my tonsils and to my horror, they're covered with spots. Yuk. This morning I walked over to my local doctor's office and was told, rather rudely, that they don't take walk-ins and there were no appointments. So I drove to work and walked to the clinic on campus and was able to be seen. I felt like a guinea pig because there was a new nurse there and the regular nurse said "Oooh...we need a pair of abnormal tonsils!" and I replied "Well, you're about to see some! I got that covered." Indeed, they were both impressed. The strep culture came back negative and they told me if nothing has "grown" in the other culture by Monday, it's a virus (meaning there's nothing they can do). Otherwise if something has grown (yum!) or I feel worse, they'll give me an antibiotic.

Fun morning.

From thefridayfive:

1. Do you have a favourite cause that you support?
Um...I'm not highly active in anything, except maybe gay rights. I also care about animal rights and tend to give a little money to that and towards curing breast cancer and AIDS.

2. If so, how do you support it?
Like I said, a little money, and with regards to gay rights and AIDS, I attend marches.

3. Have you been an active member of an organization (attending meetings, volunteering etc)?
I've been in my local GLBT organization for 3 years now.

4. Have you ever led any group?
I am a Board member, but not the president.

5. If so, how was your experience with it?
It's enjoyable but definitely work.

From altfridayfive:

1. When was the last time you inadvertently flaked out on an obligation (as in, you forgot it)?
I hardly EVER inadvertantly forget things. I'm really diligent like that. I can't remember the last thing I accidentally missed.

2. When was the last time you deliberately flaked out on an obligation (as in, you remembered it, but decided to flake)? I hardly ever do this either...not if I've given my commitment. Perhaps just in regards to work.

3. How often do you flake out on obligations in general? Not often.

4. How often do people flake out on you in general? Not often, but it's happened.

5. How do you usually feel when you flake out or when someone flakes out on you?
I feel extremely guilty when I "flake out" on people which is why I try not to. When someone does it to me, it depends on my mood. Maybe I won't care too much, or maybe (more likely) I'll get pissed off.
