Food and flora

I love when the weekend weather turns out perfectly. We spent most of Saturday and Sunday outside, basking in the sun. Friday night, we drove up to Columbia, MD to have dinner at PF Changs (thanks for the gift certificate, mom & dad!). After an enjoyable meal, we did some shopping and settled in for a while at Borders, flipping through the new Top Chef book.

On Saturday, we drove up to the PA/DE border to visit Longwood Gardens. It was a beautiful place with maybe the largest collection of flowers and plants I've ever seen. We spent about 3 hours there, walking the grounds, sniffing the flowers, and of course, taking pictures. Afterwards, we continued our drive to Wilmington to attend my high school friend's graduation party (she just got her MBA). She and her husband provided a LOT of delicious food so we pretty much stuffed ourselves. lol. We didn't know many people there, but we chatted with her friends and had a good time.

Yesterday we went to the Farmer's Market again (3rd time in a row, probably not to stop for a while..) and bought tart cherries, giant tomatoes, blueberries, a baguette, and a cucumber :) We then ran some errands and did some yardwork before a friend of ours whose wife is out of town for a couple weeks came over for dinner. S demonstrated her grilling talents by making steak, corn on the cob, and a cherry tart on the grill. We also had salad and the baguette. Man, we ate a lot this weekend :P

In the topiary garden...a furry doggy...I think

The bee flew just as I snapped this one, but I like it because it looks like a giant bee is crawling up S's leg. lol.
