Roll your leg over and do it again

Friday evening, S & I drove to NoVa for dinner at Brio Tuscan Grille, which was excellent. The point was to get S happy and full before fasting for Yom Kippur; of course, a nice dinner out never hurts :) After dinner and some shopping at Tyson's, we went to synogogue to hear pretty music and a good sermon by our favorite Rabbi. I went home afterwards while S stayed with her parents in order to attend early services the next day.

On Saturday, I drove to Owings Mills, MD to check out some condos that my parents are interested in moving to. For those that haven't heard, my parents live in Orlando (and have for something like 7 or 8 years) and are planning on moving back north soon. The property I last investigated for them in Hagerstown was much too far and "country-ish" but the property in Owings Mills seemed much better. Anyone familiar with the Owings Mills area that wants to throw in a word or two? I went to Towson U. for college so I'm kind of familiar with the Baltimore County area and for the most part, I like it, but I'm not terribly familiar with Owings Mills itself. Anyway, in the evening Hazel & I drove to S's parents' house to join them for dinner to break the fast.

On Sunday we went to the Renaissance Festival from noon to 7pm. We had a great day and were both pleased and comfortable with our outfits. We saw 3 stage shows focused on the Court drama at the time (Henry VIII meets Anna of Cleves (wife #4) and is not happy), the "Bloody Drama" comedy improv, "Hey Nunnie Nunnie" musical comedy show, and a rousing, bawdy musical act at the White Hart, performed by a couple friends. We saw many friends who work the Faire, some die-hard Rennie patron friends, and a couple non-Faire friends to our delight. Steak-on-a-stake, chips, cookies and wine were had, and we attended Pub Sing at the end. Apart from some annoying, disrespectful patrons we had to deal with, the day was wonderful.

This year I'm a pirate. Arr!

And this be me bawdy wench. Ok, so she's a fine Italian lady, but she still be me bawdy wench.

Our friends, "The Interpretors", performing their act

Henry meets Anne of Cleves (and that's the only time you'll see him with a smile on his face)

Happy day!

holidays, weekends, family
