Love makes the world go round

Friday afternoon (Imposed Vacation Day 4), I met S for lunch at Moby Dick's House of Kabob, which is mediterranean fare. It was pretty good, mostly because I love feta cheese. Unfortunately, S had to go back to work afterwards, so I went home, grabbed the dog, and we went for a walk around the lake at our closest park.

Geese & ducks out in full force

Part of the lake was still frozen over

That evening we went to our local cafe to meet up with about 12 friends in our Pride group. Lots of eating and chatting ensued for about 3 hours.

Saturday, S went to rehearsal and I did things around the house. We went to see Pan's Labyrinth at night. It was a very powerful, very moving, and beautifully-crafted movie. Violent and frightening at times, but necessarily so. I can definitely see why it won 3 Oscars, especially for the magnificent art direction.

Sunday we went to the Kennedy Center to see Carnival!. The production was wonderfully seamless, a feast for the eyes and ears. I'm not terribly fond of the actual show itself, but this production was everything that theatre should be- simply and flawlessly amazing. After the show, we met S's parents for dinner at the Carlyle restaurant for a very yummy meal while S's father reviewed his recent business trip to Rome (so jealous!).

And now...it's back to my imposed vacation :)
