Speed it up!

Friday night: Joined perhaps the biggest GreenBeLT Pride group yet at the local cafe for snacking, conversation, and final planning for our Halloween event the next evening.

Saturday: Spent the afternoon running errands and finishing up our costumes. Ok, well I helped S finish up our costumes anyway :) We were Lucy & Ethel from the chocolate factory episode of "I Love Lucy" (picture link below) Our friends all met up at our house before we left to go to BeBar in DC. Those of us that were dressed up got in for free. The place was pretty cool...on the smaller side, but big enough. It was mostly set up as a lounge with comfy seating and a dance floor in the back. They have candy-themed martinis. I got a Godiva one (of course), S got "tropical sorbet", C got a "strawberry creamsicle", and M got a "gummy bear." All were tasty, but expensive. Still, bartenders were walking around giving out free shooters and I had 3 which, added to my martini, made me a drunk Lucy indeed. I had a great time with everyone and danced a lot. S & I also got free t-shirts courtesy of Pucker liquor. I think the bar was a good choice for our group and I wouldn't hesitate to go back. Afterwards, we all went to the Silver Diner for munchies. I had the best cheese fries ever and a chocolate raspberry milkshake (I don't believe I can ever top that snack) More good conversation, jokes, and a mini b-day celebration for one of our friends ensued. Got to bed around 2am that night, just in time for the clocks to jump back.

Sunday: After sleeping in, we got the house ready and chili started for S's parents and grandparents' arrival. They were coming over so we could all carve pumpkins together. We went to their house last year, but since they're in the middle of getting an addition put on this year, there was no good workspace for all of us. We carved, took a break for a chili lunch, and carved again. I'll save the pictures for tomorrow. There's another contest at work and S & I are both entering *fingers crossed* We're both pleased with our results...S's pumpkin will either be "most funny" or "most original" and mine would be "most scary" or "most original" (I'm hoping for the former on both).

First, our inspiration...
