Today was the first day of school in Japan. The uniforms have changed, the name changed, and we have boys now. First years only. We had to bow to them and say, "Welcome." Also, now we have more Americans. Some Chris guy and two other ones that didn't speak loud enough, but they aren't replacing my favorite American teacher, so I am glad. No new exchange students, which is to be expected unless they are from China. I am now a Third Year, which in English Japanese means that I am a Senior, and most of my friends are Juniors now. I have a few friends in my class, but I have more younger friends. I think it is because I haven't known them for as long and they didn't know me when I didn't know any Japanese, so they know I understand. Wow, that almost didn't make sense, sorry.
Lately I have been researching colleges mostly. And reading manga. It's been boring. But I think I can speak Japanese more confidently, even if I didn't practice my ... umm, what do you call it... formal speech, I guess.
Also, Yamada sensei is giving me actual work! I have to either do something about American culture in Japanese, or Japanese culture in English. Should be fun. What would I do it on though? Japanese culture is easy, tea ceremony, flower arrangement, kimono wearing, calligraphy, anything. What would I do for American culture? We just steal things from other cultures. I dunno. I will figure it out.
So, about colleges? I am pretty sure I want to go to either Central Michigan, Oakland, Easten Michigan, Western Michigan, or Grand Vally State. Except that the last two are on the other side of the state and I don't think I wanna go there. I like the other three though...
Other than that, no new news, I think.
