Creation

To create a great work of art you have only to take away what is not needed. In marble, you chisel away at what should not be there. In painting you fill the areas that need not be blank. In writing, you take away a persons imagination. But what to leave behind? Thoughts of pain? Thoughts of love? Anger? Sadness? When everything is stripped away, what do I want to leave behind?
What to leave?
Do I take what I want and leave what I despise?
Do I remove what is detested so that I can see what lifts me?
Should I only take what isn't needed and leave only that which truly matters?
Light, Dark, or Grey? Comedy or Tragedy? What the hell do I want?
I know that right now, I don't want this cat on my lap.
