I am not fluent in any language. I am continually learning English, as well as Spanish. I learn new words in each language daily. To be honest, learning another language at such a late age is fairly difficult. I do believe we underestimate ourselves when learning. For instance, I understand very much in Spanish conversation, but I am self conscious about speaking the language. I can sing it, no problem. But if I am faced with a situation where I have to converse with another, I am unable. I freeze and forget the words. Simple words that I have memorized. That is what makes learning difficult. I look around at all these Hispanic children, ages 4-8, whom are bilingual with no problems. I am extremely jealous of these children. One day, I will have children, and they will be bilingual, or even trilingual if I am by the time I have them. I will tell you, learning another language opens you up to new ideas. Each culture is so different. The sayings, the words, the jokes, the music. That is what makes the world so interesting. If everyone were the same, it would be boring. Cliché , I know. Think about it; no language barriers, no racism, basically no problems, right? But that seems as if it is some form of communism. Too bad we must learn to deal with each others' differences. My friends and I have already learned to cope.

I seriously love these people.
