Diary

And this is why I love Chuck Palahniuk:

"Just for the record, the weather today is foggy with widely conflicting stories about your father's cause of death."

Haven't finished it yet, but I definitely recommend this book. Alice, if you haven't read it yet, you should borrow it when I'm done.

Didn't you buy me invisible monsters? Cause someone did... but yeah, I liked that one too, although I think I like Diary better. Invisible Monsters had some classic moments, though, and I have to say I never saw most of the twists coming. I'll have to read Survivor next, I suppose.

Haunted began, I believe, as a collection of short stories. But personally, I'm going to have to disagree on Invisible Monsters. I think that's one of his least compelling narratives, and it certainly doesn't have the gripping power of Diary or Survivor (my personal favorite).

I have a copy of Stranger Than Fiction, his collection of non-fiction works, which I can earnestly reccommend, if only for his introduction. You're welcome to borrow it (or any of his) this summer.

P.S. Try Irvine Welsh's "Trainspotting." It's extremely difficult to read, but a horrorifyingly good experience once you get used to the language.
