Welp, this is certainly an odd TOC, so little actually ranked New series, three CPs as well as a one-shot (placed a against a new series too). Anyway yay! Ansatsu took first place once more... unforunately Naruto is still up there. Shokugeki no Souma looks to have fallen back a little bit. Oh and what's this? Hungry Joker MIGHT JUST survive for a while yet. Fourth bottom and above the soon-ending Medaka as well is Kiruko and Cross*Manage... it might... just survive to... 26 chapters!

Oh and a Gintama CP. It's been a long long time since we've seen that!

HJ does seem to be holding on. Either that or the main voting demo *really* hate cutesy stuff (and overly confusing stuff like MB, but still).

... Which might mean Jump's audience is directly opposed to me now.

I'd call on HJ lasting the average 19 chapters though, just because Jump's editorial seem a lot harder on battle manga that slump.

I enjoy Hungry Joker, but I think there is one problem: it looks awfully similar with D.Gray-man. Even the recent story arc is kind of felt like D.Gray-man's first mission arc (where Allen and Kanda go to their first mission together). Furthermore, the overall concept is pretty similar with D.Gray-man; the only different thing between them are D.Gray-man is a dark fantasty and Hungry Joker is a sci-fi.

I kind of want to see different thing from Hungry Joker from future (if it goes that far).

I'm not sure about the D.Gray-man similarities. I've been feeling them from the start, but it just doesn't feel concrete enough for me to call it out on it. This latest story kicking off though... I wonder if Tabata was an assistant to Hoshino at some point.

I'd agree but, there is stuff that is lower down in the magazine that I think will be cut first and if it came down to Kiruko and Joker... it's much easier to cut a gag series... or at least I'd think so.

Yeah, I think you're right, really. I'm pretty much a master at deluding myself on this stuff. It's just as likely they'll both go down eventually anyway. Failures this early don't often recover, sad as it is.
