Behind the Weekly Adventures: The Stuff You Didn't See
Week 6: Movie Night:
As the night progresses:
Ending the scuffle over what to watch, Jesse L. Martin's pick is chosen as the first to be screened, and they all settle in to watch the Bootleg Beverly Hills 90210 DVDs that Jesse purchased from Ebay. Everyone is placated by this choice, particularly Anthony and Tracie, who enjoy nothing more than harmonizing to Sophie B. Hawkin's Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover, while making finger pointing gestures at Jesse L. Martin, who just nods and smiles coquettishly.
All goes well until, anger heightened by Pascal's rendition of the David Silver classic, You Are So Precious To Me (Am I Precious To You?) Idina and Rosario erupt into a bitter feud over who is indeed the foxier leading man: Luke Perry or Jason Priestly. Wilson meekly speaks up and offers his support to oft forgotten and seldom appreciated Steve Sanders. While they all stare at him, nobody says a word in response. Idina continues to argue that while Luke Perry does, perhaps, have a mysterious machismo, Jason Priestly would be much more fun, not to mention easier, to break. After considering this, Rosario is swiftly converted.
The Notebook is viewed next, and Jesse, Rosario, and Idina busy themselves with an increasingly dirty game of "I Never" while Anthony and Tracie sniffle quietly and whisper very sincerely to each other, "If you're a bird, I'm a bird!"
In an effort to dissuade Pascal from rubbing himself through his Ladyjeans, his home movie is next in line. The increasingly uncomfortable atmosphere reaches a peak when, on screen, Adam disappears into the closet for three minutes and the door shakes on its hinges. The tape cuts to an old episode of Law and Order shortly after, and Jesse's deep chortles break the heavy silence.
The night ends with Rosario and Idina's Adult Film of Choice, the serendipitously titled Beverly Hills 9021-Ho!. Pascal is, for obvious reasons, asked firmly to leave. Tracie and Anthony, having long since retired to the kitchen for ice cream, return only long enough to retrieve Taye, Anthony telling him gently, "It's okay. You don't have to watch. No matter what Idina says." Jesse, Rosario, and Idina quickly proceed to enjoy the film, none of them noticing that Wilson Jermaine Heredia is still in the room until his quiet sobs give him away.
