A Week in the Life: Day 7
Ashleyfanfic

She was hot. That was the first thing that she noticed. She was hot and there was an incredibly warm body behind her that only served to make her hotter. She opened her eyes and they shifted around the room, noticing that light was coming in from the windows. She released a yawn and looked at the bedside clock, seeing that it was only 5:45 in the morning.

She felt arms tighten around her middle and she smiled through her yawn. She couldn’t understand what she was doing up so early. It had been rather late when she’d finally climbed into bed, but here she was, awake as the sun rose. She turned in his arms and stared at his sleeping face. She’d become amazed with how much body heat two people could put out, which was her main reason for being hot.

She traced a blue vein that ran over his chest as she watched him sleep. His dark lashes seemed out of place against the paleness of his skin. His blonde hair fell in his face, and had she not known him, she’d have thought he belonged in heaven rather than in the bed with her. He resembled a fallen angel, but there was really nothing angelic in the way he acted. She smiled, thinking fondly that he was far more devilish than he appeared.

She placed a kiss at the hollow of his throat, her hands moving over his chest and shoulders as he still lay sleeping beside her. His breath blew against her neck as she leaned over to place kisses on his shoulders. He was perfection, she thought to herself. And he was hers. She was determined that nothing would change that. He murmured something incoherent in his sleep and rolled onto his back, his arms bringing her with him. She propped herself up on her elbow as she stared down at him. Her eyes moved over his body and came to rest on the bulge protruding from the sheet. She smiled to herself as she slipped beneath the sheet, thankful that Draco was considerate enough to sleep completely nude.

He took a deep breath as she swiped her tongue over the tip of his hardening cock. Her fingers lightly moved over his heated flesh, feeling him squirm beneath her touch. When she took the head into her mouth, she felt him swell even more. She gripped him in her hands, taking great care in moving her hand over him. She knew he was awake when she felt his hands in her hair, and heard the soft plea for her to never stop.

But she did stop much to his chagrin. She slipped from beneath the sheet, smiling down at him as she propped a hand on either side of his head, “Morning.”

He glowered at her, “Evil wench.”

“Me?”

He nodded and grasped her hips in his hands, “Absolutely.” He groaned as she moved to straddle his hips, rubbing herself against his erection. “So damn evil,” he said softly.

She smiled down at him as she sat back, “I can be nice too.”

He smirked, “I don’t believe you.”

She took him in her hand, stroking upwards, feeling his hips thrusting with her, “Maybe you need a demonstration.”

He nodded, “A demonstration would be nice.”

She smiled as she raised her hips and guided him inside of her, both releasing a slight gasp as he filled her. His hands reached for her hips as she allowed him slow and steady thrusts. He watched her, lost in the sight of her body moving over his, riding him to the brink. He’d never had a more pleasurable way of being brought out of sleep, and he hoped that he had many more mornings just like this one.

She was amazed she was so close so soon and when he began thrusting into her emphatically, she was nearly lost. She placed her hands on his upper thighs, using the support to lean back a bit more. He watched in rapt fascination as their bodies were joined over and over again. One hand slid over her flat stomach and up to her breasts, cupping it in his hand as his thumb rolled over her hard nipple. She bit her lip as she came, her body growing completely still before she tumbled over the edge.

He rolled her onto her back and made several short quick thrusts before he eventually came inside her. He let out a soft growl as he buried his face in the crook of her neck. She brought his mouth to hers, sliding her tongue inside his mouth as their kiss brought them down. When he pulled away he placed a kiss on her temple, whispering, ”Mine,” as he did so.

She rubbed her hands over his back, loving the feel of his muscles moving beneath her hands. She released a sigh as she stared up at him, “I don’t want to leave.”

He rolled to his side and brushed the hair out of her face, “I don’t really want to leave either.” He sighed, “But we must.”

She rested her hand on his chest, sighing again as thoughts about what would happen once they got back to England rushed into her mind. She couldn’t help the plaguing doubts. They’d come so far in the span of a week that she didn’t know what she would do if she had to give it up, if she had to give him up. She loved waking up in his arms. She loved feeling happy. And, she’d never admit it out loud, but she kind of liked feeling as if she belonged to someone.

He placed a kiss on her forehead, having been staring into her brown eyes. Eyes full of worries and doubts. He liked the crinkle in her forehead she got when she was deep in thought, but he didn’t want her to feel like she should have to worry about them, “No worries love. We’ll sort everything out, just you wait.”

“But what happens?”

“What do you mean?”

“When we get back. We…well, I don’t see how we can be together like this at home.”

He leaned forward and kissed her, “Don’t you trust me?”

She smirked, “Not in the slightest.”

He smirked as well, “That’s because you’re smart,” he sighed. “Don’t worry about it, okay? You and I, we’ll figure out a way, no matter what.”

She nodded and looked over at the clock beside the bed. 6:30 blinked at her as she noticed it had becoming increasingly lighter outside. She sat up and looked over at him, “Let’s go get some breakfast. I’m famished.”

He smiled, “Tired you out to the point of starvation, did I?”

She chuckled, “Something like that,” she said as she stood and walked into the bathroom. He’d never admit it to her, but he was also worried about what would happen once they returned. He knew one thing, he wasn’t letting her go without a fight. She was his and he’d be damned if he had to give her up because of his father’s ideology. A dull pain formed in his chest when he thought about what could happen to her. He shook his head, ridding it of those thoughts as quickly as they had entered. He reached for his clothes and made quick work of putting them on, thinking that he would take a shower when he had a bit more time. Time enough to spend with Hermione pressed against the tile wall dripping with water. He shook that thought away as well, not needing to go down breakfast with a hard on.

She came out of the bathroom several minutes later, one of the terrycloth robes wrapped around her as she sifted through the bags for something to wear. She looked back at him where he sat on the edge of the bed, yawning. She smiled as she picked up the green sundress and moved over to him. He stared up at her with his grey eyes, “What is it?”

She shook her head and leaned down to kiss him, catching him by surprise. His hands got tangled in her brown hair as he pulled her down to his lap. When he broke the kiss, he smiled at her, “What was that for?”

She shrugged, “I don’t know. Just felt like it.”

He nodded, then offered a playful smirk, “Can’t keep your hands off me?”

She chuckled, “Can you blame me?”

“No. I’m extremely sexy.”

She laughed again, “Come along, stud. I’m hungry,” she said as she stood and quickly got dressed. He grunted and grabbed his clothes, muttering something to himself about evil women and their wanton ways.

On their way to breakfast, Hermione thought about asking Harry and Pansy to join them, but upon raising her hand to knock on their door, the moans coming from that room were enough to keep her from disturbing them. Draco had raised an eyebrow at her as they made their way out of the penthouse, “Can you believe them? We managed to be quiet this morning.”

“Are you certain we were?” he asked, amused.

She tilted her head over at him, “Not certain, but I’m fairly sure that we were not loud.”

He smiled as he shook his head, “Truth of the matter is, love, we have no idea if we were loud or not. They may have heard us.”

“Well…whatever, I still think it was pretty rude of them.”

She chuckled to herself as she sat across from him at one of the tables, “No blame for you?”

“Why should there be? Besides, you aren’t Mister Innocent.”

“If I had done something wrong, I would take the blame for it. But as I recall, I was minding my own business this morning, sleeping like most people do, and you woke me up. In a rather delicious type of way, of course, but never the less, you initiated what happened this morning.”

She shrugged, “I take full responsibility for my actions.”

He smiled, “If you’d like, we can go back upstairs and you can take responsibility for your actions again.”

“We have…less than an hour before we leave.”

He smiled, “Your point?”

She rolled her eyes, but couldn’t suppress the smile that graced her lips, “You’re horrible.”

He nodded, “But I’m yours.”

She grinned at him, “You are, aren’t you?”

He winked at her, “Always, love.”

*~*

When they arrived back at their room, they found Harry and Pansy sitting in the large common room between the two bedrooms. They’d apparently called room service and from the look of Pansy sitting in his lap and the messy appearance of Harry’s hair, Draco guessed they hadn’t been expecting them to show up when they did.

“Morning,” Hermione said with a smile.

Harry looked up at her from where he’d been nibbling on Pansy’s neck, “Oh…hey,” he said as a slight blush colored his cheeks.

Pansy furrowed her brow, “Where have you two been?”

“Having breakfast.”

She took a bite of toast, “Us too.” Draco smirked and she could see a comment rising up in his head, “Whatever it is, don’t say it.”

“What?”

“Whatever it was you were about to say,” she said offering him a wink. “You forget how well I know you.”

Harry looked up at Hermione and smiled, “So, are you ready to go?” he asked them both.

She nodded, “We have thirty minutes before we have to get out of here.”

Harry sighed, “Very well.”

Pansy frowned, “What’s gotten into you?”

He shrugged, “When we get out of here. I have nowhere to go. I have to go collect the few things I left at the Dursley’s and then…bugger off.”

Hermione sat across from him, “What about the Burrow?”

“They’re all leaving, remember? Going on a trip to Romania to see Charlie.”

She nodded, “Right.”

Pansy smiled, “You could get a room at the Leaky Cauldron.”

He raised an eyebrow, “What?”

“Well, I’ll be shopping everyday in Diagon Alley, and if I just happened to bump into you, it wouldn’t be a terrible thing, now would it?”

He smirked, “I suppose not.”

Draco rolled his eyes, “Shouldn’t you two be getting dressed? We don’t have much longer.”

Harry nodded and moved Pansy to stand as they both walked into the other bedroom and closed the door. Hermione looked over at him, “It’s not that simple for us, is it?”

He nodded, “If I suddenly developed a shopping bug, Lucius would be furious.”

“Why?”

He shrugged, “Why does he do any of the things he does?”

Twenty minutes later after a comfortable silence where Hermione had placed her now bare feet in Draco’s lap and he’d used his expert hands to relieve the tension, Pansy and Harry emerged, looking slightly disheveled.

Draco glanced up at them, “I swear, you two are like a couple of rabbits.”

Pansy smirked, “And the two of you have room to talk? You were the reason we woke up this morning.”

Hermione’s eyes shot over to her, “What?” A slight blush covered her cheeks as Harry nodded in return.

Pansy tilted her head and gave a slight nod, “Yep. I’m surprised, Granger. Never would have pictured you for a screamer.”

If it was possible, her face turned redder as she buried it in her hands. Draco frowned and looked up at Pansy, “Leave her alone.”

She shrugged and smiled, “Don’t know what the problem is.”

“Just…cool it, Pansy,” Harry said taking a seat beside Hermione.

She nodded, “Fine.”

“Good. Where’s the floo powder?” Draco asked Hermione.

Hermione pointed to the room and removed her feet from his lap, “I’ll go get it,” she said as she left the common room and walked into the bedroom. Draco tilted his head at Pansy who smirked. He shook his head as he stood and followed Hermione. He found her gathering their graduation robes as well as the bag of floo powder.

“Don’t listen to Pansy.”

She looked up at him, “It’s silly to let that embarrass me, right?”

He shrugged, “Can’t always control your own emotions.”

She sighed, “I’m worried.”

“About what?”

“What do you think?”

“Pansy?”

“No. About…going back.”

He sighed, “I know. But hey, we’ll work something out, you know. I mean, the world is full of possibilities,” he said rubbing his hands over her arms.”

She nodded, “Yeah.”

“Don’t sound so defeated. Something will come our way, just you wait and see.”

She gave him a smile and a slight nod, “It’s just…technically, I just found you and losing you just doesn’t seem like an option.”

He smiled, “That’s because it isn’t an option. It’s going to be fine. Just you wait and see.”

She nodded, “Okay.” She took a deep breath before she leaned forward and placed a kiss on his soft lips, “Okay.”

“Come along. The Headmaster is waiting for us, I suppose.”

They both emerged from the bedroom to find Harry and Pansy sitting the way they’d left. “It’s time,” Hermione said as she entered the room. She held out the pouch of floo powder and sighed, “Who first?”

Harry and Pansy looked at one another, “Why don’t the two of you go first?”

“Tut, tut, Pansy. You should know by now I like to be fashionably late,” Draco said with a smile. “You and Potter get your asses up and inside that fireplace.”

Pansy frowned and stood, “Fine.” She reached inside the pouch and stepped inside the fireplace. “Hogwarts: Headmaster’s office,” she said as she threw the powder down onto the ground and the green flames engulfed her. Harry went next, followed by Hermione, then Draco.

As he stepped out of the fireplace, nearly hitting his head as he did so, he found Hermione, Harry, Pansy, and Dumbledore all waiting on him. He smiled at the four of them and asked them all to sit down, they had much to discuss. Dumbledore titled his head, “I expect you all had a marvelous vacation?” Everyone nodded and Hermione noticed that Draco was sneering at the Headmaster. Some habits died hard, apparently. “Splendid. Now, I’d like to know how each of you fell off the boat.”

Draco sighed, “Granger bumped into me and we both fell.”

“I tripped over the hem of my dress.”

Dumbledore nodded, “And the two of you?”

Pansy held her head high, “Potter was…puking over the side of the boat and Millicent playfully pushed me and I bumped into him and we both went over.”

“I got seasick,” he said as he smirked at Hermione.

He nodded, “I see. Well, everything sounds like it worked out well.”

Draco furrowed his brow, “That’s it?”

“Would you like there to be more, Mr. Malfoy?”

He frowned, “No.”

He nodded, “Very well. Your trunks and things are still here and the Hogwarts Express is waiting to take you back to King’s Cross.” He stood, “I’m very proud of the four of you, managing to survive all that time on an island with no money and more importantly learned to look beyond your differences to find the good in one another. This proves that there is hope.”

Draco rolled his eyes and stood, leading the way out of the door. “Mr. Malfoy, I believe Professor Snape wanted to see you before you left. You’ll find him in his office. And Ms. Granger, I would like a word alone.”

He said nothing as he walked down the stairs, Pansy and Harry trailing after him, “Well that was unexpected,” Pansy said softly.

“One thing about Dumbledore, he’s always surprising you.”

Draco shook his head, lost in his own thoughts. He was rather disappointed. He knew that Dumbledore knew about himself and Hermione. How could he not if he was the all seeing wizard that everyone said he was? He didn’t know exactly what he’d been expecting, but somewhere in his heart, he’d been hoping he’d provide himself and Hermione a solution. Not bloody likely.

*~*

“Ah, Mr. Malfoy, are you well?”

“Yes, Professor. The Headmaster said you wanted to see me.”

“I do, have a seat.” Draco sat across from Snape’s desk. “This next year, I’ll be working on a very complicated potion that will take a great deal of time and care. Given that I have to watch over the snot nosed brats that come into this school,” he said rolling his eyes slightly, “I won’t be able to dedicate as much time and energy needed to work on it, but it must be made.”

“What kind of potion?”

He raised an eyebrow, “Let me finish.”

“Sorry, sir.”

“As I was saying, the potion requires a great deal of energy and time being added to it, both of which I won’t have enough of. Which is why the Headmaster has granted me approval to acquire an apprentice. Seeing that you are the best Potions student I’ve had in seven years, I decided that you would be the best choice for the job.”

His jaw dropped open, “You…you want me to be your apprentice?”

“Yes.”

Draco raised an eyebrow, “What kind of potion is it?”

“I’ll only tell you if you agree to take the job.”

He sighed and ran a hand through his blond hair. One thing was for sure, living in Hogwarts instead of Malfoy Manor would provide him with a much better chance of seeing Hermione. She would probably be off to university, but maybe she could sneak away, or he could, to see her. He looked into the black eyes of his mentor and nodded, “I accept.”

“How much do you know about the Death Eaters, Draco?”

He shivered, “Enough.”

He nodded, “Good. Let me explain what the potion does…”

*~*

“Dumbledore told you he wanted you to be the new Arithmancy teacher? But we’ve just graduated…”

“I know that. I won’t start it right away, he wants me to go to university first and get a bit of training and learn a bit more, but he said that when I finished the job was mine. Professor Vector is looking to retire in the next few years and Dumbledore thinks I would be the best witch for the job.”

“That’s fantastic, Hermione.”

“I know.” She sighed, “But there’s still one problem.”

“Malfoy.”

“Yeah. I just…I don’t know what to do, Harry? There are too many complications and…”

He nodded, “It’s going to be difficult, but anything that’s worth something always is.”

She smiled, “You still hate him, don’t you?”

“With the fire of a thousand suns,” he said smirking. “But, I can see that he makes you happy and that you really do love him and he loves you. All you can ever really want for your friends is for them to be happy.”

She shook her head, “You never cease to amaze me, Harry Potter.”

“I never cease to amaze myself.”

There was a knock at the portrait hole and Hermione stood and walked over to it. She smiled when she found Draco standing there beaming at her, “Brilliant news,” he said, his perfect white teeth showing at her.

“You two want to move in here more? I can barely hear anything you’re saying,” Harry said from his seat on the couch.

Draco rolled his eyes and pulled Hermione out into the corridor with him, the Fat Lady humphing at him and giving a quick word of warning for Hermione to be careful of him. Draco looked up at her, his sneer firmly in place, “Don’t you have something else to do? Like expand your frame size?”

Hermione popped him on the arm, “Be nice,” she said pulling him behind her away from the portrait. “So what brilliant news do you have?”

He smiled, “Well, Professor Snape is brewing a potion that will take far more time or energy than he has to brew it. So, he’s offered me the position as his apprentice.”

Her eyes widened, “What?”

“Yep. You are looking at the apprentice to the Potions Master. Wonderful, huh? And this way, my father can’t complain because he thinks I’ll be helping his…cause. It’s a brilliant cover.”

She nodded, “This is fantastic,” she said as she reached up and wrapped her arms around his neck.

He smiled as he pulled her close burying his nose in her curls. “Yeah, and wait until you hear what it does,” he said as he pulled her into a deserted classroom. “Snape found that there is a potion to remove the dark mark from his arm, which would disband the Death Eaters completely. The Dark Lord wouldn’t be able to brand them again as long as they all ingest the potion. Lucius and the others all think he’s making a potion to enhance his powers, but they have no idea that it will completely strip him of it for good.”

“That’s brilliant,” she said excitedly.

“I know. Snape’s the happiest of all about it, though. Said he’d finally be free of the collar he chose as a boy.”

She smiled up at him, then wrapped her arms around his waist, “This is wonderful.”

He nodded, “I know. This means I’ll have free reign to visit you at university and everything. We won’t be able to go public with it, but it will work out better.”

She closed her eyes, “It will all work out, then.”

“I told you it would. That you shouldn’t worry.”

“When will you start working on the potion?”

“As soon as possible. Snape is sending a letter to my father immediately. He said I might have to go home for a bit, but he doesn’t think that he’ll keep me there for too long.”

She hugged him again, “That’s brilliant.”

He placed a kiss on her forehead, “What did Dumbledore want with you?”

She pulled back from him for a moment, then sighed, “He’s given me the go-ahead to be the Arithmancy teacher when I finish at University. He wants me to acquire a bit more knowledge, but he has faith that I could be finished within two years.”

“That’s a heavy work load.”

She smiled, “I love the challenge.”

He leaned forward and brushed his lips against hers, “Seems we have something in common.”

He cupped her bum in his hands, giving it a firm squeeze before the sound of a voice being cleared rang through the silent room.

He pulled away from her and both looked over to find Dumbledore standing in the doorway, “The train is waiting to take you both to King’s Cross.” Hermione bit her lip to keep from laughing at the mirth in the older man’s eyes. “I heard from Professor Snape that I’m to be seeing you here again very soon, Mr. Malfoy.” Draco gave a nod, and he smiled at the younger man, “I always knew that your path had yet to be chosen. I’m glad to see that you were led down the correct one, and I hope that you’ll find Ms. Granger to be an excellent guide.” He smiled at them both, “And Ms. Granger, I shall see you again very soon.”

She nodded and smiled at Draco as Dumbledore left the room, “Still hate him?”

Draco rolled his eyes, “Let’s go. I’ll shag you on the train.”

She furrowed her brow, “Shag me on the train?”

“Yes.”

“I never agreed to this.”

He stopped and looked back at her, “Are you disagreeing with this?”

“Well no, but I would like to be asked before I’m told I’m to be taken.”

“Takes all the spontaneity out of it.”

“I’m not a very spontaneous person.”

He smirked, “I disagree. But we’ll save the argument for later. I just want to get you on that train and naked,” he said taking her hand and pulling her along the corridor behind him, Hermione releasing a slight giggle at his impatience.

*~*

He had her pressed against the compartment door as he nibbled along her neck. The window behind her caused a slight panic, hoping that no one decided to wander about the train or they would get a glimpse of his hands making quick work of their clothes. His tongue was making light patterns along her collarbone as he unbuttoned his pants.

She reached for anything to hold onto, afraid she might leave very visible marks on his body if she was to grab onto him. She moaned as he nibbled up her neck, pulling the green sundress over her head, revealing her naked form to him. “No bra…no panties…it’s no wonder I love you,” he muttered against her skin, causing her to smile as he lifted and lowered her onto his hard cock. They both moaned at the feeling of his being deep inside of her, driving into her over and over again.

She shivered in his arms, bringing her hands up to run through his white blonde hair. He brought one hand up to cup her breast, taking the hardened tip into his mouth, lavishing his tongue liberally over it. Her quick intake of breath urged him on. The fear of being caught was forgotten as their entire world narrowed to the scope of their little compartment. She was all that mattered to him and the thought that he was going to have to leave in a short while was a thought that chilled him to the bone.

He wanted nothing more than to stay in her arms for as long as possible. She was everything to him and he was amazed at how quickly he’d come to realize these feelings after years of fighting with her. It surprised him that he was on that train with the woman whose life he’d done everything he could to ruin. He wished that he’d realized his feelings years before; their time could have been so much better spent. Although, he had to admit that fighting with her did give him a twisted little thrill.

He looked up into her brown eyes and found that he couldn’t tear his eyes away. He was lost. Lost in her and to her. She owned him and he wasn’t going to do anything to screw that up.

Minutes later, she shook in his arms, her orgasm exploding inside of her like a firecracker, washing over her senses in wave after wave of glorious passion. He followed her shortly, releasing a grunt into her hair. He placed a kiss on her shoulder as he took a seat and brought her with him. He reached for his cloak that sat beside them, and wrapped it around her shoulders as she placed her head on his shoulder. She sighed contentedly as her hand stroked over his cheek.

“This has been…possibly the best week of my life,” she sighed. She looked up him with a smile, “Well, parts of it, that is.”

He smiled, “I would have to agree with that statement.”

She yawned, “I need a nap.”

He chuckled as he leaned his head back against the wall, “Then I think you should take one.”

She nodded as she snuggled into his embrace even more, “I love you.”

“And I love you. More than you even know.”

Draco looked out the window of the scenery passing by. Soon he would be back home and away from her. But he would figure out how to see her and soon. He’d told her that losing her wasn’t an option and it wasn’t. He refused to let it be one. He could work around everything else as long he could have her at the end of it all. And he was fine with that.

He placed a kiss on the crown of her head and smiled to himself as he finally thought about the possibilities for his future.
