so Becker's decided to host an envent to stimulate business. The event was a tailgate party before the Bengal's game last Sunday and also the game itself. They did this for 170 customers and several employees (cause you had to have someone to mingle with the crowd). the even was catered, prizes awarded, etc. They spent the equivelant of one year's salary for one of use pee-ons.
So let's recap....they just laid 2 more people off and then spent the equivilant of one of those employee's entire year's salary on a one day...wait..not even one day more like 4 hours sporting event.
In the same token the management is trying to convince us that they really care about us. That the layoffs were necessary. There was no other way. Amanda, god love her, told them that was a line of bullshit and she knows they don't give a rat's ass about any of us. She told the managers that they just laid off Joni whose husband is dying of cancer and she will loose her health benefits and he won't be able to get treatment so tell Joni how much you "really" care obout employees...see if she believes you either.
Yes, I wanted to say the exact same thing...but no, I am not an idiot. I want to keep my job for as long as I can or until I find something more stable. She is so incredibly blunt and to the point and I love her honesty...but really...she needs to temper her comments to WHOM she is speaking to at times...or WHEN she is speaking to them. Right now, when layoffs are still happening..is not a really good time to piss someone off. I am keeping my mouth shut....but my eyes open to new possibilities.
