Since when did music become a fashion show?
Anyways, I have been spending sometime reading articles online; I have been spending a lot of time reading about music, punk, music news ect. I just read a bunch of Best of 2005 lists. Some people list like 35 albums, and I don't know how they can take in that much in a year, let alone rank it. And some people have the best music videos, singles, funniest lyrics, best TV shows, hardest working bands, ect. I don't know how/watch enough TV to rate all of that stuff. Anyways, all of that reading made me want to do my own list. I think I can, I bought a lot of CDs this year, I got into a lot of new bands.
First, Bands that I think I should have gotten into this year: Pelican, Days Like These, dredg, Say Hi To Your Mom, The Spill Canvas, Sufjan Stevens (I know I missed the boat on this one), Jacks Mannequin.
Band that's going to get a second chance: Minus the Bear
Here are the best (which means the favorite from my perspective):
Fall Out Boy - From Under Cork Tree
MxPx - Panic
Paramore - All We Know Is Falling
Silverstein - Discovering the Waterfront
Emery - The Question
Dredg - Catch Without Arms
Above This Fire - In Perspective
Fall Of Troy - Doppelganger
Marathon - S/T
Bloc Party - Silent Alarm
Reggie & The Full Effect - Songs Not to Get Married To
Thrice - Vhessu
Against Me! - Searching For A Former Clarity
A Wilhelm Scream - Ruiner
Circa Survive - Juturna
Acceptance - Phantoms
Cartel - Chroma
Sherwood - Sing, But Keep Going
