Ned, for his part, hadn't been in the room when she'd gotten down to taking apart the DVD player. He'd been out, getting some food for the day and almost dropped it when he came back to the scene.

"Did you break it?" he asked from his spot in the doorway.

Kaylee jerked her arms around like she was a robot. Or at least like she was like what Kaylee thought robots looked like nowadays.
