this is the picture patrick's sister took when his niece first met me.
last night we had dinner with my mom, my grandma, my aunt, my cousin kristin, and her kids. tyler played shy all night and focused on his DS until we got outside the restaurant. then he squeezed in on the bench beside me and snuggled up. katie had crawled under the table to get next to me at dinner and fell asleep in my lap. i love those kids. patrick just watched and smiled at me all night. he's thinking about what i'll look like with our kids, and he's loving it.
this weekend i stay at his house. friday night we're going out to meet his friends, saturday we're doing his hometown tour, saturday night we're trying to get with kym and rodney for dinner, and sunday we're spending all day with his family and his mom is making a special dinner. she's called him all week to ask him what i like and what i can eat. it's going to be a fun weekend :)
i had a small heart attack at work yesterday. before lunch our boss's wife got there and i was determined to not let her catch me in the bathroom at all, even if i was just in there to pee. so i held it and then lost the urge during lunch. right after lunch at 1:15 she pokes her head around the corner in my office and says these exact words: "When you have a minute come in my office and talk to me, and bring all of your stuff."
if your boss said that to you, wouldn't you just assume you were being fired? i did. i sat there shaking and removed everything from my bulletin board, cleaned out my desk and went back there. i was calm by the time i sat down. she immediately asks about my health, so i spent 15 minutes telling her about what the doctors have said and my follow-up appointments etc. then she says to me that they're really happy with my work performance and they're giving me more work. i told her flat-out i thought she brought me back there to let me go. she just laughed and said no, she just wanted to make sure i was doing ok.
a mind-fuck is what it was. when she said bring all your stuff she meant all my paperwork from the doctor, which i haven't been carrying around with me or storing in my unlockable work-desk. either way i'm ready to find a new job. the people i work for are insane.
