i went back to coffee pavillion last night for the first time since Ian surrendered his hosting powers and basically spoke for us all because he was too proud to think of anyone for himself, and let the "controversial" poets in question actually deal with the concerned owner, and......
the new host is rather silly in an annoying high school way but nonetheless nice, and it was mostly all new faces there from the old "city poets" bullshit dead poets society thing ian was trying to organize, and.idunno. so far, i'm a fucking hit again. i didn't read anything excessively "dirty" or potentially-offensive, but still......i certainly didnt see a problem with anyone on the audience. it amused me that the host introduced me like i was a first-timer.....just because she didn't know me. i read one poem and she yelled out "can i keep you?"
heh...sold 2 cds. got compliments from one of the last people i expected to get one from. and almost feel a little bit out of my funk. maybe even enough to try and read at the music open mic i always go to in oswego at old city hall tonight. lately more people have been randomly asking me if/when i'm ever going to "do some of my stuff there" so.......what the fuck, right? we'll see how my mood is, and who's in the audience.
