I find it interesting that no one anywhere on the Internet has ever suggested some kind of connection--though, most probably, minor--between the Decemberist's "We Both Go Down Together" and Matthew Arnold's "Dover Beach", especially with some kind of acknowledgment to Anthony Hecht's "The Dover Bitch."

Work is amazing--amazing every single day. I made eyes, and exchanged hellos, with Senator Cornyn on the Hart/Dirksen monorail on Wednesday. I'm becoming a Senator fanboy. I think Byrd might be my new favorite. Byrd, with his wife and his dog, edging his walker inch by inch down the tiled hallway of the Brumidi corridor. My heart flutters like orchid petals in the wind.
