The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I think I did decently on my midterms. I know I rocked the socks off of my physics test. IA might be another story. In my humble opinion, I wrote a damn good essay. The short answers on the other hand I may or may not have screwed up on. The grading is subjective on this test, as it is on most tests in the humanities, so maybe because Kristi likes me she'll give me a good grade.

On Friday afternoon Laura and I got rid of a bunch of pent up, post midterm energy by decorating Scott's side of the room with assorted foliage. It looks like some sort of autumnal jungle of aspen and maple and pine. A branch fell down on him when he was sleeping last night. Pictures will be posted in the next picture post I make.

Last night Daisy (basketball girl who probably doesn't like me because of how weird I am) drove Laura and I down to Willamette for the football game. Willamette is slightly better than us. 55-6 was, I believe, the final score. But those six points, baby, originated from the arm of my roommate. That's right, he threw the one touchdown for LC. Scott is my idol.

Sort of.

Ok, no, not really.

But it was good to get out last night. It started raining on the way back and it hasn't stopped since. It was a dreary day of laundry and Miles Davis. The moisture that is hanging in the air is like some sort of potential, like the energy that collects in the imminent fate of a porcelain bowl precariously positioned on the edge of a table.

It's strange how you want whatever it is that comes next, but is still right out of your grasp. Por ejemplo: It needs to be Christmas. I am ready for it. I am ready for my month off. I am ready to ride on trolleys through downtown San Francisco and go to Pier 39 and Ghiradelli Square. My next door neighbors are blasting The Nutcracker. It reminds me of getting dressed up and driving into the city with my parents and seeing it performed at the Opera House. As different from my family as I may be, it is a good memory.

Scott and I...okay, just I...am going to get one of those little christmas trees for our room and put up lights and everything. Jeez, I'm such a girl; what with my decorating and my idealism and my online journal. Whatever. I don't really give a crap what you guys think. Christmas is the best.

In fact, I think I'm gonna go christmas shopping right now. What do you want?
